To install Mac os x mountain Lion on Win Laptop, 1st you need a genuine copy of the Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8) operating system software right?

My problem is, I have been looking for a copy of the genuine copy of the Mac os x operating system software everywhere (Lowyat plaza, online search...etc) , but couldn't find anyone selling the operating system software.
Asked in Mac dealer shop, they sell software that let you install Windows onto Mac book,
But they don't sell the Mac os x operating system software (it self).

Could anyone tell me where can I buy a copy of the operating system ? (in DVD ?)

if yes, any some setting needed or just boot and install like i install windows 7??

how about installation CD? can i used normal Mac OS CD or i need find special installation CD for my pc??

Thanks, finally received my Mac os x (10.6.3) DVD two days ago.
Tried to install it (using iBoot) into my Toshiba laptop, Dell laptop and HP laptop but all un-success.
Will try my i5 Intel desktop later.

I am planning to dual-boot my Lenovo Y480 with Win 8 and ML.
My specs - i7-3630QM, 1TB HDD, 8GB RAM, GeForce GT650M

I've read many forums and have no doubt that my hardware are hackintoshable.

What i want to ask here is regarding the installation steps. Many guides asked to remove graphic cards and RAM during installation. There's also an advice to plug the hard disk at the correct SATA port (don't plug at the white port).

As i'm hackintoshing my laptop, i don't think these steps are possible. So should I proceed with the steps? Can anyone assure me that it will go fine even without complying to those steps?

edbod, my suggestion before you're doing yours is to google for the correct keyword, try "Lenovo Y480 hackintosh" or "Lenovo Y480 tonymacx86". As you may expect, there is no single all-work-out-of-board laptop installation other than on the real Macbooks.

bro for Y4xx series i think you should proceed with myhack installation. i've read somewhere (maybe in the myhack forum itself) it work oob mostly. except wireless card and some other few things

Bought a Mac os x 10.6.3 installation retail DVD from Apple store last week.
Successfully install it into my Toshiba laptop (17" LED display, model P775-S7160)

My question are,
(1) can i use that installation DVD to install the Mac os x into other laptop and desktop as well?
i have one more laptop and two more desktop to install Hackintosh.
Is there a limit of number of pc i can install using that installation DVD?

(2) Am thinking to install Microsoft Office into the Hackintosh laptop/desktop to do production work in office.
Do you think is it safe to use Hackintosh for production work in office?

This afternoon, tried update the system to Mac os x 10.6.8 but failed.
Now my Toshiba cannot boot at all, look like i need to re-install back the 10.6.3 version.

well guys i just wanted to update my laptop status on installing hackintosh+win8 dual boot.and its a success after days of reading on forums tutorial and trial and error finally i have a fully working mackintosh on my asus A55vd

May i know your Mac osx version number?
My laptop only able to install Snow Leopard 10.6.3, an update to 10.6.8 causing it fail to boot.
Just wondering can I use Snow Leopard 10.6.3 to surf internet without worry of malware, virus and hacker attack ?

mine is mountain lion 10.8 and yes u can surf the net witout worring

Just installed Mac os x onto my windows laptop.
But when plug in a HSPA 3.5G modem, it crashed !

(new update few months later,
Plug in the USB modem before turn on laptop to boot Mac os x,
and it is able to boot up and able to install the USB modem and able to connect to internet)

I can...I am using ML dual boot with win8 pro....

it happen to me once, but i just solved it using usb 3g router..get connected using lan. done

one less thing to solve..

Well did you at least activate Intel HD 4000? By that I mean getting CI and QE to work. To know for sure, your Launchpad needs to show a blurred out desktop, like this.
