A new guide to install Lion coming out from tonymacx86 website can be found here:

http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2011/10/uni...lion-using.html

For those who're on Windows platform, there is no easy way to get this other than to ask any of your friend to buy and create the USB (or get the RM199 ones but you still need to have a friend who can copy it into another USB thumbdrive and install kexts to let it load on non-Apple hardware).

dawn152 hows your hackintosh doing? managed to get the USB 3.0 ports working with multi beast USB 3.0 Driver? , I've managed to get it working but sometimes i need to mount the disk manually via Disk utility, hence everything is working fine, some read and write bench mark for USB 3.0 via cheap hard disk dock - Toaster, it comes with eSATA connection too, bought it at view net for RM110.00.
Hey skitZo. Yup, the USB 3.0 ports are working fine and no need to mount the disk manually. However, I found that I have to disconnect all device on the USB 3.0 ports or the system won't boot properly (even after I've sorted out the boot priority list). No biggie though. I haven't tried to do a RAID on my system. That would be my next move. Also, thanks for your PM. smile.gif

Thought I would share my build here after testing it out for a week. Seems to work fine, aside for some random freezes after an extended period of time. It's either have to do with my graphics card and/or my wifi adapter. I'm using a USB-connected network device to use my Maxis Broadband. It's a temporary fix until I get the parts to build my own Apple Airport card. Hopefully that would fix it. While there are reports about freezes caused by the gtx460, my system seems to be running fine with it as long as I don't use the USB network device.

I have my MacBook Air 2011 with me right now. Having trouble downloading OS X Lion as it was already pre-installed. Trying to figure out a way around this. rclxub.gif

Can't help you there iSaaC, you need to have an upgraded Mac to be able to buy and download I believe. Other choice is to buy the RM199 USB version.

mini laptop? Not atom based one is it? Had once running on S10 but I don't think I can live with it.. so abandon it after few weeks using it. Try the Ultrabook .. but nobody has it running Hackintosh on it yet.. problem I can see is the driver for the wifi ..

This is my first time trying the Hackintosh on my i7 Nehalem system, so far so goos everything works fine except my external usb DVD ROM drive can't be detected...

Initially install 10.7.0 and upgraded with 10.7.2 Update Combo. I'm using the USB installation (prepared with Extra Lion DP4 and Chameleon bootloader). Post installation using Multibeast. I'm using DSDT.aml file (got it from the net) to make the system sleep and QE/CI works like charm. The only kext I'm using is for the onboard Realtek ALC1200 HDA.
Here is my system specs :

Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 x64
Intel Core i7 920 running stock clock at 2.67GHz
Asus P6T Motherboard Bios 1004
Nvidia GTX 260
18GB DDR3 Kingston RAM

I never use the autosleep function as sometimes I'm downloading big files...I normally use the manual sleep function and it works....

Is your external DVD runs on USB3? Did you try other USB port? What brand and model is the DVD drive?

@whitewhite .. seems to be good enough, no idea how about the performance though, but should be okay. Do search using google for those who've similar setup as yours .. you may find that there probably some snags but had been rectified and just follow their suggestions.

There are many posts/discussions related to your motherboard. The only important thing in Hackintosh are the motherboard and graphics card. Search for GA-EP43-DS3L and Lion (or Hackintosh) on google, it will come back with many results especially from tonymacx86 and insanelymac forums.

Yeah tonymac seems prefer Gigabyte boards....I had a tough time researching for support on my Asus P6T board especially the DSDT.aml file that really works on my board and audio kext....My installation was not that difficult. It was a straight Lion 10.7.0 installtion the dated to 10.7.2.

Using Unibeast + Multibeast were really easy...
