@wiraone The gtx460 is up and running. biggrin.gif I think I used the wrong setting for MultiBeast.

Currently installing Adobe Production Premium. Very excited to see Cuda Acceleration in action. Hopefully everything will run smoothly. I'll post a screenshot soon. I'm also thinking of making an A-Z guide for whoever is interested in building a Hackintosh with the same configuration as me. It's actually quite straight forward once you figure out what components and installers and settings to use (which is the hard part and where the headache comes in, lol tongue.gif ).

I'll keep the thread updated of my findings and the performance of the Hackintosh. smile.gif

It is nice to have everything running and not tainting the extensions etc, but I've not seen any working dsdt for my p8z68v-pro. Best I could do is to patch some of the extensions to get the speedstep and sleep working correctly..

Apparently my joyful celebration at a working Hackintosh is premature since I can't get it to recognize any of the drives I've installed, except the ones that's under a Marvell controller (which is where I've connected the boot drive to). Nor could I get sound and ethernet to work. :/

Anyone can figure out why? I've spent all of yesterday searching for a fix. Sent skitZo a PM asking about his post installation process, but he hasn't logged in yet.

The graphics card is working fine though, and I've done a slight mod so that Premiere Pro would accept it for Cuda/GPU acceleration, since it wasn't automatically enabled.

thx

There are few steps you need to follow to get the things working.

1. ethernet, most gigaybte mobos are shipped with realtek's chipset. So, from your latest multibeast, install the ethernet card driver and do remember to select the System Utilities option, this will repair your exts permission and regenerate the exts cache. If this doesn't work, head up to lnx2mac's website here:

http://lnx2mac.blogspot.com/p/realtekrtl81xx-osx-driver.html

and download the latest ext.

2. on the sata & audio, have you downloaded the correct DSDT from tonymac's dsdt database? do remember, you need to download the correct dsdt according to your bios. they've f3, f4 and lastest f5 DSDT there. http://www.tonymacx86.com/dsdt.php

Anyway, what smbios.plist definition that you use? imac12,1?

^ I've done all that, double and triple-checked my bios version to make sure I've downloaded the correct dsdt, to no avail. I decided to do a complete re-install and use the MultiBeast settings from this post and now both sound and ethernet are working.

I selected the 3rdParty eSATA option cause that was what skitZo used based on his past post. Still couldn't get the system to recognize my other drives though. Somehow the Intel SATA controller just refuses to play nice. The ones under Marvell are fine and properly recognized. I'm not sure what else to do at this point. sad.gif

Oh and I used MacPro 3,1.

@dawn, can you go into system profile and see under Serial-ATA. I've problem previously on marvell controller and never on intel. Check if any of the other controllers shown up there. You may want to check for any error message returned by the kernel, use console app to check the kernel log.

@thx, can't help much .. but I believe you can diagnose further your problem .. Do you see the BIOS bootup screen on both monitors? Try disconnecting the two monitors and let only one monitor connected to the graphics card (the port that aren't recognised). Swap around with the other monitor and vice versa .. if both monitors and ports are okay, then I believe you need to go ahead with diagnosing the Lion problem .. or better still, are both monitors working okay on Windows?

I used to have a successful hackintosh XPS M1530 with triple boot windows 7, lion and ubuntu but the laptop spoilt and now I got myself a Dell L502X and plan to dual boot hackintosh and windows 7.. but now I asked myself why should I hackintosh but I cant answer myself other than seek for satisfaction of the successful hackintosh =.= ..
May I know why u want to hackintosh besides for the cheap solution of mac? well, I know this is lame.. LOL

BTW, I have a crucial M4 128gb in it, if I were to dual boot lion and windows 7 den I'll partition it. May I know partition the SSD will have any negative effects to it? eg performance or the life time??

thx.. smile.gif

@wiraone, so... apparently I'm dumb, lol. Silly me I totally overlook to set the Intel SATA controller to AHCI mode. Everything's working perfectly now. biggrin.gif Thanks for your help and fast responses. You rock!

@ywkwy, it's not lame. Initially I wanted to buy the Mac Pro for my editing needs, but since the entire line is not only outdated and expensive, but with the date of a new refresh seems uncertain, I decided that my best option is to not wait and just build myself a Hackintosh. And I'm really, really glad I did. Not only my Hackintosh is faster and more powerful than the base model of Mac Pro, it's only at half the price. And mine even has Blu-ray reader/writer! But you are right, building a Hackintosh is so much fun (headache-y fun tongue.gif ) and you get this sense of accomplishment and instant gratification once you get everything working properly. rclxms.gif

I forgot how much I enjoy building custom PCs, which I haven't done in a long time since I moved to Mac. And since I have no plans to go back to Windows anytime soon, I'm glad to know there's an option beyond whatever Apple is offering.

As for your actual question, I'm afraid I don't know. I think it'll be okay to partition it.

Hi,

I have both win7 and lion ..
in win7 .. both monitors OK ...

what happen when i was using 10.7 .. during bootup, only one screen will show the process etc .. but when ready, both screen will display ..
i tried to power off that one monitor, leaving 2nd monitor (connected using displayport at my GC) .. nothing came oout ..

it happen when me upgrade to 10.7.2 .. using multibeast 4.0.2 ...
i suppose to click only audio part and migration extension .. but i selected eastbeast option also which i believe overide my previous setting ..
manage to recover my audio .. but not for dual view ..

@thx, try the latest multibeast 4.0.3, it has the latest chimera .. nothing much I can see what the easybest option will do .. anyway, after you've managed to fix your problem, I'll suggest that you add a backup partition in your HD just to hold a copy of your working setup. With this, you can always boot from that cloned partition and go back to the know working setup.

Hi guys!

Been away for while, glad to see that there are new successful hackintosh installations. Any of you guys managed to get iCloud working on Raid? - Ok managed to fix it with latest chameleon r1650

dawn152 hows your hackintosh doing? managed to get the USB 3.0 ports working with multi beast USB 3.0 Driver? , I've managed to get it working but sometimes i need to mount the disk manually via Disk utility, hence everything is working fine, some read and write bench mark for USB 3.0 via cheap hard disk dock - Toaster, it comes with eSATA connection too, bought it at view net for RM110.00.

cheers!
