no1 helping on my build? sad.gif

Your build seems to be okay, the only thing that I'm not sure about is the USB3 and Firewire. You could always refer to the success builds found in tonymac forum. We couldn't help much in helping you deciding which to go since many of us have different hardware and some like mine is a year old technology.

Just aware my ssd and casing ques haven't get suggestion yet.
Like Tonymac always recommending corsair casing but lowyat not selling it.
Any alternative recommandations?
*
SSD and casing are not that important in building hackintosh, just use whatever you want .. most SSD are compatible with Mac OSX, just get the latest batch and you're okay.

Casing, you can choose a chap-ayam brand or one that cost thousands, it doesn't matter as long as you can fit the motherboard, graphics card and HD/SSD into it.

Hackintosh on AMD can be done by patching the kernel, I've no idea if there is a support for your hardware. For me, not worth a try.

*
Should be fine, it will be mounted as read only file system and if you wish, you can hide all non Mac partitions too.

Shouldn't be a problem, download the patched BIOS from http://bios4asus.blogspot.com/. Do search on DSDT for your motherboard.

Opss, you might have problem with your graphics card though.

I believe when you were booting using unibeast, the fakeSMC version that was used were the one loaded from unibeast instead of the one that you've installed in your PC.

My suggestion, boot up to your ML using unibeast, don't use easybeast/userdsdt. Instead, select the kexts manually. The FakeSMC is the one that you need to have, it is not optional, without it you can't boot directly from the HD. Install the one from the Multibeast, reboot, if everything running .. then go and work on the audio/ethernet.

The plugins is good to have, you can HWMonitor and have it showing all the temp & speed too .. I like it and my status monitor shows the CPU multiplier, so I know most of the time, the CPU is not strained smile.gif

Find a friend with Mac, buy from the online store and create a thumb drive. You need at least a Mac running SL. Else, ebay I guess is the best bet.

The latest Mac Mini should come with Mountain Lion, and I've no idea if you could download SL or Lion from Online AppStore anymore.

Any upgrade will surely breaks something, particularly the audio. So, as usual, download latest multibeast and the combo upgrade. Thing that didn't work and cause problem after 10.8.2 will be the old FakeSMC plugins. Run the combo upgrade and then multibeast before rebooting.

Do you need to do anything when booting up using Unibeast? If yes, you need to add the same thing into /Extra/org.chameleon.boot.plist

Set the PCIRootUID to 0 and GraphicsEnabler to Yes for your card.

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>PCIRootUID=0</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>

I looked and looked but could not find /Extra folder nor the file org.chameleon.boot.plist. I even executed the Terminal command to reveal all hidden files - just couldn't find them. Installed both Chimera, then Chameleon bootloaders, still no such file/folder in root.
But if i install Easybeast / UserDSDT, the file & folder appear but knocks out my audio and ethernet. Pls help.
Thanks

You need to create the file yourself it is not there, so, create the /Extra folder and then create the file. This /Extra folder should contains your DSDT file too. Way of doing the right installation will be:

1. After OSX installation, boot using unibeast.
2. Download the correct DSDT file from http://www.tonymacx86.com/11-dsdt-database.html. Put into your Desktop.
3. Run multibeast, select userDSDT (this will copy the DSDT file into /Extra)
3. You need to select the correct audio, network and fakeSMC kexts for your motherboard. What kexts need to be added found in this thread:

If your motherboard doesn't need DSDT, it will work, otherwise, follow the steps I've listed above.

I've the following files in my /Extra folder:

CODE
macproblack:~ mm$ ls -al /Extra/
total 176
drwxr-xr-x   9 mm  wheel    306 Sep 21 19:06 .
drwxr-xr-x  32 root     wheel   1156 Oct 13 07:06 ..
-rw-r--r--   1 mm  wheel  48442 Jul  5 17:27 DSDT.aml
-rw-r--r--@  1 mm  wheel   1107 May 22 16:36 SSDT.aml
drwxr-xr-x   6 mm  wheel    204 Aug  7 08:58 Themes
-rw-r--r--@  1 mm  staff    763 Sep 21 19:42 org.chameleon.boot.plist
-rw-r--r--   1 mm  staff    468 Nov 22  2010 smbios.plist

BTW, if you need the sleep function to work or some USB3 ports, you may need to download DSDT found in tonymac website. Gigabyte is known to be the best board to install OSX.

Why would you want Snow Leopard?

He want to be able to buy the ML upgrade, only SL and above will allow you access to AppStore.
