nice scores bro!! cpu at stock? single gpu? i guess i've hit my limit with my 2 year old rig..sandy bridge is naisss!!
*
Surely it isn't stock smile.gif It is i7/2600K, so oc-ed to 4.7GHz for single core or 4.4GHz for all cores. I'm using speedstep, so most of the time it underclocked .. Hardly can hear the fan goes high speed except when some of the applications use > 60% CPU time and during benchmarking.

And yes, single GPU, XFX 5770.

My previous attempt was on different sandy bridge processor, it was the i5/2400 without K. It ended up on my daughter's desk instead smile.gif Tell you the truth, I'm not well verse with the GPU, I bought it because it was recommended at the time I did my built. I believe the are many newer GPUs available now, so need to visit those discussion board and see what are supported I guess. I'm using istat menu/pro but sometime it won't read the sensors properly from my mobo. I'm just hoping the hardware sensor will take care of itself .. oh, am using coolermaster V6GT, so, don't really worry about the CPU temp smile.gif

A quick search seems to confirm that it might run Lion:

the maximum that i can go with the 920 is 4.2, beyond that my pc won't even start..
i guess it's related to my overclock settings and the mobo that i use..
nevertheless my 24/7 oc is just at 3.8 so i'm not that worried bout the temp..

the thing that got me into hackintosh is just to see how much my rig fare against those machines from apple, one of those 'because u can do it' thingy..
but really, i can't seem to find a use for a mac..yeah it's pretty, neat, cool factor..but still i find that i do things faster on a windows..
well maybe i'm used to the windows environment for so long, using a macosx just make me confused..i don't do graphic works, cad etc..
after the hassle browsing forums, installing macosx and making sure it runs fine, i'm at a dead end..
what i'm going to do with my macosx? care to shed some light?
*
Been using Mac for quite sometime, started during my school years .. that was back 25 years ago. And my very first Apple that I bought was the iMac Bondi Blue back in 1998. I don't do graphics either, and my work needs Windows .. so, am running a virtual machine inside the hackintosh smile.gif The reason why I went for hackintosh, it was back to early of last year when I was waiting for an update for the iMac, but to my dismay, the update wasn't justify me to buy it.. so, tinkering with the idea of building my own machine and run OSX on it. I do have MBP which I use while away from my home, and my family are mostly on Apple. Guess that the reason..

None of the Intel wifi chipset could work in hackintosh I believe. Either you need to change it to atheros .. or use usb dongle if you want to install hackintosh.

What is the specs of your v3040? Couldn't find it on the net. Chances of getting it to work with hackintosh is a bit slim if we don't know the specs.

I haven't done any fresh installation without using distro on notebook .. and using distro means you're going to use a questionable source. Sorry, couldn't help much on your installation.

i am considering the Asus P8H67-M LE board for my project. what is your take on the compatibility?
*
If you're going for compatibility, many have suggested to go for Gigabyte boards since most of them have DSDT ready and you don't need to thinker about with creating your own DSDT. Check the following thread if you're going for a mini-build:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=168&t=33412

Someone has got the mobo of you choice to run OSX Lion, do a search for it, I believe you can find the guide for it.

As others have suggested, go for the MBA or MBP if you're looking for a notebook. I've two MBPs myself .. and no, I'm not thinking of hackintosh-ing a notebook.. too much hassle and not worth it. With MBA/MBP, I could install VM software to run Win7 if I want to.

Shouldn't be a problem if you've the correct bluetooth dongle. I haven't tried myself, so I can't say much smile.gif

Hackintosh possible with the following config?

i7 3770k
Asus P8Z77-M
GTX680

If no drivers or something... I'll just use my 2010 iMac as normal computer / target mode display and turn on the PC for gaming... sigh @ no gaming mac pro / imac with desktop gpu.

Need a patched kernel for Ivy Bridge, check tonymac's website. It has a way to install on newer motherboard.

*
SL is needed for you to get AppStore running to buy the Lion or Mountain Lion. So, no, you do not need to install SL first. If you've a Mac that runs SL and above or you've bought ML before, you just need to create an installer USB thumbdrive by running Unibeast.

if buying app using hackintosh, secure or not?

It will be as secure as buying apps from a normal Mac unless if you've malware in your system.. But this is unheard of.

I got a i7-2600k processor n wish to build a dual boots(hackintosh & windows) set,any hardware advises from all the master here? Budget 3k.
*
Most import parts in building a hackintosh are motherboard and graphics card. Check the following page on what you need to get.

http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/search/label/CustoMac

i7-2600K is a Sandy Bridge processor, and since Ivy Bridge is out, those SB motherboards are now in the cheap, do check the following for compatible motherboard for SB.

Added on September 7, 2012, 11:18 amWhy tonymac emphasis on Gigabyte motherboards? Because their UEFI BIOS is not locked, not like ASUS or ASROCK and some others.

This is the system I'm trying to get.

1. Intel i5 3470
2. Sapphire HD7750
3. GA Z77M D3H
4. Kingston Hyper X 8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz
5. Normal PSU 600watt
6. HDD and DVD used old one

I would like to know if this system works?
Can Mac OS support ATI Radeon? or must use NVIDEA GeForce?
If so can recommend one the price and performance almost same as HD7750?
How bout the others? Everything ok?

Planning to install both Mac OS and Win.

Already look into wiki, but don't see any of these come out.

Thanks
*
You look at the wrong site, but google always been helpful .. did a search using the following keywords "GA-Z77M-D3H tonymac" and it returned me the following thread:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/buying-advice/71...patibility.html

1st problem, the mobo has VIA audio, so, may need to find out how to get it working.
2nd problem is the GPU, it is not supported too .. so you may need to change to some other GPU

Have fun and good luck!
