For those who're thinking of trying to install OSX on your PC, to less you headache, go with the current iMac, MacMini, MBP or MacPro specs, least you should go with -1 version. Any lesser specs will not worth to continue with your dream.

I've been using Carbon Copy Cloner all this while before it went to become a commercial product. I'm still using the older version (free) on ML and it seems to work wonderfully (at least on my setup).

Yes, it should work for SL and Lion.

On the mic, no idea, probably a short Google search will give you an answer.

Hi guys.
I succesfully installed ML on my Acer Aspire v3 571g.
I got audio and ethernet to work.
I have a GT 640m card which from what I've read, will not work with ML. I have Intel HD 4000, but how can I enable this?
*
How do you install ML if the GT460m doesn't work? Or probably ML actually using HD4K by default?

If you can install with the GT520 on your PC, you should be able to run normally with GT520. What you need to do is to run the latest multibeast and under bootloader, choose Chimera. This will install the bootloader so you don't need to boot using unibeast.

If you need to pass the kernel function, you need to create/edit file /Extra/org.chameleon.boot.plist.

Latest Chimera should be able to support your graphics card.

Forgotten one important thing to get the thing booting up .. FakeSMC!!! That is needed for the OSX to bootup on Hackintosh.

Added on December 14, 2012, 12:27 pmLLL went back happy today smile.gif Anyway, his problem with booting up from HD was due to the boot 0 : Error, and this is due to the new HD format. We used the guide found in http://www.tonymacx86.com/25-boot0-error-official-guide.html. Here is the captured CUI commands that I've used:

On the GT520 GPU, we used the kexts found here:

http://www.osx86.net/view/3005-asus_nvidia...in_lion_...html

Added on December 14, 2012, 12:35 pmOh .. BTW, the work around causes the Hackintosh seeing the HD as external HD. I believe there is a workaround this .. but since his box is 100% working now, no point of pursuing to fix appearance issue.

No problemo LLL, glad you've working hackintosh now. One thing about getting help online/discussion board, we need to be precise in describing our problem.. otherwise, it will turn to be not helpful. I'm not really good in this stuff, but I would say that I'm a google expert .. haha.. stuck, google, tried, stuck, google again.. patient is numero uno. For us now, we don't really hack anything .. we just install the OS .. the real hackers have done most of the jobs for us smile.gif

Should work with exception on the audio. VIA audio is not supported, but you might be able to install VoodooHD.

I m getting sandy bridge i5 and asus mobo.
Is this ok?

I'll suggest to stick with Gigabyte motherboard, go with the one which has realtek audio and not VIA. Less headache.. with ASUS locked BIOS, you need to edit and do some modification to your BIOS. Best, before you go and buy, drop a message here with your specs and someone will suggest if it is hackintoshable.

Remember, the main ingredients to a successful hackintosh:

1. motherboard
2. processor
3. graphics card

Without knowing what your specs are, we can only guess. Please post the specs and whatever kexts that you've just installed. BTW, is this static coming out once a while or continuous? It sounds like your soundcard was put to sleep and wakes up with a pop sound. Do search tonymacx86 forum, someone with the same problem as yours might have the problem fixed.
