Drumrolls! This is the new club for current and future owners of the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 running the dedicated Android OS custom designed for Tablets.
The latest update available for this device is Honeycomb 3.1.
I had the honor of buying few of these tabs during my 6 weeks visit to the US.
Therefore I am creating a club here as it is an awesome tablet PC.
Tip: If you want to have a feel on how the classic vanilla Honeycomb 3.1 looks like without the customizations by vendors like Samsung/HTC, it would be a good time to get it now. Samsung would be releasing a patch for its TouchWiz UX interface soon, but right now it is not released yet.

1) How much is it?
It was just released in the US and it retails for $499 for 16GB and $599 for 32GB. That does not mean the price would be about 3 times after conversion to RM. It is expected to be around RM 19xx to RM2300. But those are just based on hints by suppliers.
2) Is it something like the Ipad2?
Well if you are an Android fan, then you would know that even old 8" tab outperforms in terms of features and usabity (flash etc)
This tablet runs on the new Honeycomb 3.1 which was specifically designed for Tablets, therefore the way it behaves and interface is slighly different.
Please note that as of now, all of these tablets have the standard Honeycomb interface. The Samsung TouchWiz UX is not yet released.
I was told to check it often from "Samsung Apps" app for updates. I check mine everyday, and till date, nothing.
3) What type of charger does it use?
It uses the Samsung proprietry connector on one end and the standard USB cable on the other end. Therfore you could charge it with any USB enabled PCs.
However the supplied charger supplies 2000mAh of power (compared to 1000mAH and 500mAH for most USB style charges)
And yes, the charger supports World voltage so you could use it anywhere. Also to note is that the back cover is NOT user removable.
4) Can you feel the power of the dual core CPU and dedicated Honeycomb OS?
Yeah you can view webpages with mutiple flash plug ins smoothy. This is almost as smooth as a netbook.
In fact some pages are smoother on this tablet than some atom based netbooks i have tested. Videos at 1080p are also awesome.
5) How about apps? Are there special apps?
Yes the Android market place recognizes your OS and displays some additional Games and Apps specially made for the Honeycomb OS.
It also filters out some apps that are not compatible with the Honeycomb OS.
In other words not all Android apps are compatible. Not only due the screensize but the way the auto rotate is interfaced by OS to the app. This is the common cause of FC on these apps.
6) Is this an upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7inch?
Nope it is NOT, not even a bit. The hardware is completely different and so is the OS
Just the name somewhat stays the same
