QUOTE(Gti23 @ Aug 20 2011, 02:13 AM)
"By the way there's not that many roc's on the road. I always get glances from people every time I got out of my car. Can't say the same for GTI's since there's a lot of them on the road."

I think you are getting this all very wrong. I was reacting to the above statement made by double7 in his original post which kinda demeans the GTI and implied that style is more important than substance.

Yes, I did say to each his own but that does not mean that I can't air my opinion. Your analogy of a Nazi Is most ironic as they do not take kindly to opinions. So, who is the Nazi?

I never did say that I am smarter or more sophisticated than Roc buyers. I personally love the Roc! You are arguing out of context. I am just saying that to buy a car so that people could admire your car is not the best reason to buy a car. We should buy a car because we like the car for it's performance, styling, etc. Buying a car to get glances from strangers seems juvenile to me. You might not agree with me but that is my opinion...and everyone is free to make an opinion...unless you are a Nazi.

Curiously enough, in terms of substance, the Scirocco handles way better than the Golf especially if you compare it stock vs stock. Mainly due to the lower center of gravity for the Roc and it's two door design so the chassis is a little stiffer which definitely shines when it comes to cornering.

So true! True story, played zig zag through traffic against a GTI and managed to leave the GTI in the back. The steering and handling is very responsive where I can just dash into gaps and even making 90 degree turns without the rolling feeling.

I mean that's good enough for me. How often can you speed 200kmh++ (Scirocco on stock 233kmh btw) on Malaysian roads?

Dude give it a rest. I already said that the reason I get glances because there's not many rocs on the road and that's the truth. I never said the reason I bought it because I want to get glances.

Power wise, the 1.4 TSI engine is powerful enough for me.

"Yeah. The Roc is indeed very sexy looking. I might be tempted to buy a Roc if it wasn't for the damn 2-door tax. Anyways, glad that you are happy with your ride."

Remember what I wrote after your reply? I have already given it a rest and understand that your original post could be easily misunderstood. However, I must defend my original position when challenged by another Forummer that seems to argue out of context and labeled me as a snobbish Nazi.

Sigh, just when I thought that you are OK and you go on to make the above statement. Don't you know that it is dangerous to play zig-zag through public roads. What are you trying to proof?

I rest my case.

Not trying to pick a bone with you mate. And of course everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I found your tone rather condescending though, which is what prompted me to respond.

But to be fair I was pretty rude too. So let's put it to rest.

"Buying a car to get glances from strangers seems juvenile to me."

Well you're not on the righteous side either by accusing me of buying the car for the above reason and labeling me juvenile at the same time.

Can I say you argued out of context as well?

Well, if you were indeed buying the car to get glances fom strangers then it is indeed quite a juvenile act but since you are not, then you are not juvenile and I apologize. However, playing zig-zag and racing on public roads suggests otherwise. Please put safety first before your ego. If you want to test your Roc against GTIs, bring it to your local racetrack.

Well in all honesty that was a one time thing. Was bringing my friends and they asked me to chase down that GTI lol. Sure thanks for the advice.

One more jab at ya buddy, if it wasn't for your ego we wouldn't be getting in this argument in the first place rolleyes.gif

Both does the same thing, both are just different brands. So best for you to actually go to the shop and learn more about what each product does first and what are the costs so you can make an informed decision. But if it were me, I would go to Autodetailer.
