Great info. thanks for sharing

Welcomed. I think Golf 1.4 TSI in M'sia is stated as Golf Plus. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, just to share, the proper method is to calculate by Litre/100km

I have a small 555 notebook in my car to write down the details everytime I refuel:
Date / Location / RM / L / KM traveled (Tripmeter) / ODOmeter

OMG passat is more affordable now
Yes but the design is far inferior compared to the Passat CC. Plus im wondering how a 1.8L TSI engine can only have an output of 158HP while the Peugeot 508 1.6L turbo has an output of 156HP.

It's an old engine design. Not the latest ones anyway. Might as well ask why does the 1.4TSI produce around 160-184ps as well.

The head on fight of 508 vs Passat is going to be interesting with both launching at the same time. I havent seen both cars in flesh yet but on pictures, the 508 interior and exterior seems to look bigger and nicer. Specs wise about the same though 508 has GPS and bluetooth while Passat offers DSG and slightly better acceleration. Will check them out this weekend. Hope both got test drive units..

Auto dilemma should you guys recommend a Rocco 1.4 or a 2nd hand gti or the new passat? I like the Rocco but I hardly see any 1.4 on the road mostly are 2.0 le but that's kinda way out of my budget

ironically when i am driving my roc, i dun see any rocs on the road but when I drive another car, i frequently see 1.4 roc, but mostly white ones ( not the same unit ) .

1.4 rocs are common on the road? So far I've only see 2.0's thought. Sighh with my limited budget I'm only able to afford a 1.4 roc though. But I don't want to see like a push-over on the road when people see a 1.4 roc since many rocs are 2.0 on the road.

I will be coming up with some form of review soon. In the meantime, I will confirm that as a drive, the Cross Touran felt more enthusiastic than the Passat. That said... I wasn't actually able to outrun it while in a Jetta...

Definitely a line-up of three very interesting cars.

Guys,

Just send my Golf TSI for 45000KM service at VW Jalan Ipoh, KL. Apparently there was a software upgrade for both the engine and the gearbox. I sneaked into the service bay to see my car and had a chat with the service technician. Then he showed me one email from his supervisor about the upgrade and at that time, he was burning the file into a CD. Then he proceeded to upload the new files into my car via the diagnostic tool. Now, no more jerking in 2nd gear!!! Whatever it was, it's good to have the latest software, much like our "talipon pintar".

does the so called 'software upgrade' appear in your service receipt?
