Do you mean the DRLs? This is the 2010 GTI.

Does this belong to anyone in here? Very cantik... matte grey is very, very nice. And those matte wheels are a killer!

Wah! Where got such thing as 'just' 50hp only? 40Nm torque might not equate a huge difference with the kick-in-pants sensation, but 50hp is quite a big gap! Almost like a jump from a Civic to a Civic Type R! laugh.gif

I've seen a couple of Polo GTIs out and about recently. All of them were in Tornado Red. Looking pretty good, I must admit! Wonder if there are any showrooms with a test drive unit?

19xhp and above from a 1.4 is certainly very impressive. I really do wonder how they drive... would be quite fun machines, I'd imagine. Somewhat frugal, too..?

Still, I can't imagine that it will be bad. Especially not, after having to struggle with my FD's horrendous FC!

Two weeks from now... there should be some word on the new models. I think.

Oh crap; I see myself in that CBT video. Didn't think it would be such a wide angle.

Here are some quick pictures for now:

I will be coming up with some form of review soon. In the meantime, I will confirm that as a drive, the Cross Touran felt more enthusiastic than the Passat. That said... I wasn't actually able to outrun it while in a Jetta...

Definitely a line-up of three very interesting cars.

I actually wrote a review on the Ford S-MAX, just a week before I drove the Cross Touran. Yes, the Ford has more (much more!) power, and it was a good drive... but the 1.4TSI in the Cross Touran was also mighty impressive. I actually found it more spirited than the Passat (although the numbers do not suggest the same).

No, the Jetta and Passat does not have a sun-roof. The Cross Touran does.

Well, if you're a speed junkie, the S-Max is very addictive. It is more powerful than all three cars I tested; especially so since it has 40PS more than the Passat and Jetta, and a whopping 60PS more than the Cross Touran.

That said - the Cross Touran is nowhere near underpowered. It felt like it had more fizz than the Passat, despite having less power, and weighing more. Believe that this is strongly due to the gear ratios. That, and it actually feels a little better built than the S-Max, and less gimmicky. Sun/Moon roof is also an added bonus. I tested the S-Max with 5 people inside, but did not have the chance to with the Cross Touran; don't know how the performance would be like with more people inside.

So yeah. Hard to choose...

I wrote about driving the Passat, Cross Touran, and Jetta here.

And all Volkswagen models come with a 2-years manufacturer warranty, plus 3-years extended warranty (5 years in total). As for the Jetta v/s Golf; the slower response from the Jetta is expected - performance has obviously given way to practicality. Bear in mind that the Jetta also weighs more.

Ah - thanks for pointing out my mistake. Have edited this now.

And cheers for the comments; overall, I still need to work on my 'flow' of things. You're right; I need some captions on my pictures so people know which is what. Point(s) noted; will rectify this is the future. Might be getting something else very soon, so will definitely keep your suggestions in mind.

Btw, some important details that I am missing:
1: The interior pic is of the Passat; interiors of the Jetta and Cross Touran are vaguely similar, with the exception that in the Passat, the key is inserted whole and pushed in to start the engine (Jetta and Cross Touran are started by turning the key).
2. The car going at 170 is actually the Cross Touran; however, all cars were tested up to 220, 218, 210km/h (Passat, Jetta, Cross Touran).
3. Boot being open was the Cross Touran; only the Passat and Cross Touran have the unique VW signature boot opening mechanism; the Jetta is opened the traditional way.

Will have it for the next couple of days, so should be quite interesting.
