i just use simple method. run memory benchmark from aida64 rclxms.gif
not the best software to test but still ok for simple task smile.gif

Playing around with my proc again, heres my specs:-

Proc: X2 560BE unlocked to X4 currently @ 3.7ghz @ 1.46v sweat.gif
FSB: 200 x 18.5
CPU-NB: 200 x 12 = 2400mhz @ 1.35v

Memory: Gskill ripjawsX 8GB @ 1600mhz 8-8-8-22 (pass on memtest86+)

Mainboard: MSI 870-G45

PSU: Silverstone strider 560W

Using WC atm so I'm pushing the vcore with temps around 45C, but it seems a little too high at the speed for my liking. Prime small FFT test is ok but superpi always causes bluescreen within few mins. Seems like my IMC is weak sad.gif. Lower CPU-NB speed helps a little. Anything else I'm overlooking that could be the reason? I really want to get my vcore lower & reach 4ghz at least sad.gif

weak unlocked core(s) i guess bro, 1.46v for 3.7GHz is d prove. imc not too good too, 1.35v for 2400MHz is kinda high. sweat.gif

i believe there are still rooms for u to do some volt shaving, not by big margin thou. sad.gif

Hmmm, i thought that too initially. But i get similar results when in dual core mode only. Btw seems like my proc VID is 1.4V, not really great start there. Regarding the IMC, basically i set it higher just incase (follow some other boards advice), doesnt seem to matter much, still get the same crashes.

Funny thing is it can handle 15-20 mins of prime(small fft or blend) without issues but instantly BSOD with superpi sweat.gif

I know sweat.gif not really planning to keep this setting for long, just benchmark. My actual aim is to run @ 3.6ghz with lowest possible voltages

Another noob question here: does the cpu multiplier have any relation to CPU-NB & HTT? E.g. i am OC-ing by raising multiplier now, will using high cpu multipliers cause any stability issues to the CPU-NB or HTT? AFAIK, it should not put any strain on that part of the system, & thats the benefit of an unlocked proc, correct? smile.gif

Nice ram timing there (i think tongue.gif) Yah as i mentioned in the next post, i bumped it up to 1.35v just as a precaution, read around that it helps stabilize, although truth be told, I have not seen any benefits yet. Gonna set it back down as low as possible for my 24/7 setting.

FYI mine is silverstone strider V1, bought around 4 years ago. Still going strong brows.gif

Just now push to 4ghz @ 1.55v, can boot into windows but scared to bench sweat.gif

u need some ballistix love bro... sure no regret one, thou price wise it's slightly expensive if compared to gskill... or u can opt for winova 8gb kits, not bad too (if d chipset used are d same as d pair i've tested lah) wink.gif

vcore kenot lower liao ah? kinda high for such clock bro. sweat.gif

not all, ripjaws x (lower end like 1333/1600) dont really clock well. if we are talkin bout good old ripjaws (non x) it's all diff story. nod.gif

Is it just me or do unlocked procs have weak IMC-NB? hmm.gif

Btw whats the best stress test for AMD procs atm? Prime95+SuperPI32M still good enough?

ic bro... i know ur a bzman... smile.gif

from experience, thuban should be able to run 4GHz w/ 1.45v or below, NB varies from 2700~3000MHz with 1.25v~1.325v. i'd consider these setup as safe for 24/7. wink.gif

lemme know if u need decent oc ram w/o causin holes in ya wallet... (see siggy)... brows.gif tongue.gif

weak imc doesn't explain d need for high vcore bro, there could be 2 possibilities to me, one is chip, another could be d board. sad.gif

batch plays an important factor here imo, batch are good, some are mediocre. this was d average chip i managed to unlock before:

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Atta...post&id=1908112

prime blend test still d best imo. nod.gif
