if you're able to get EP without fulfilling the minimum wages previously, what make you think the increase of salary gap recently will really impact?

Is it?? Die lar like that, later we have to compete with a bunch of cheap cambridge/oxford/harvard students for a job.

automatically drop to a lower grade (S pass) if next year your base salary can't make the lower cut of EP ?

getting a job or not, does not depend on your uni only.

mackiddo, when the minimum wages for EP is 2.5k and you manage to get EP with salary of <2.5k, so what make you think that increasing that amount will really impact you? Of course you wouldn't know if your salary is always on the high side, so is it clear now?

I agreed. If my sis is still single, I would definetely intro her to him.

there is really no clear guide on this but from recent comments i've read in the papers seems to be pointing at a tighter grip to the so call qoutas. They are also aware of some employers who cheat on the base salary just to fulfill the quotas. Guess we gotta wait till next year and see what happens. you really can't do s%$# if they really wanna downgrade you.

read in the expat forum, some got downgrade from EP to S/WP (which have a quota)
so need to deport them back because exceed quota,

hi all, need some opinion from you all.

my EP appeal is already sent for almost 4 weeks but no news yet, so basically i'm not putting much hope on that already and started looking for other job. (and to be positive i might stand a chance because all rejected appeal came back pretty fast)

So far i had another interview and i did rather well (hope i didnt get the wrong impression) so now i'm wondering, if i were to offer another position what should i do as my EP is still in appeal status.

now i'm worrying if i were to void the appeal and accept others, my current hiring company (the one that help me appeal) will think that this is done very unprofessionally as i already accepted their offer and they even fight for my ep application appeal.

mind that i'm working in a field which rather small, i really don hope to spoil my reputation but at the same time i cant just wait here doing nothing.

Help~

care to share what field is that ? and why was earlier one got refected again ?
and why new co EP u so sure will approve ? higher salary or bigger firm ?

you have no idea how many chinamen type employer companies in sg operating.
MOM is already knowing the loophole.

Can the chinamen companies to employ the same tactics even if the salary bar is raised higher?

obviously they can BUT do they dare to do it since the MOM sure gonna have more stringent check due to public outcry?

Added on August 18, 2011, 2:51 pmSome companies i know had now abolished the 13th month salary, and build it into their monthly salary. I waiting for my company to do so as dont want to wait till year end to recieve it.

because if they probe you well enough, you can do the same too and you will find that maybe few generation upwards, they have linkage to m'sia
