ya... i noticed that too when i tried to install GT Racing Academy, i got message saying not available for TF. but i could install on my sgs2.

well, asking/ trying is free... if can return with money back guarantee, i suggest return and take back money and buy elsewhere.

i dun think you can... apps like whatsapp and viber uses your phone number as unique identifier (username). it also integrates with your contacts -- as in, grab the phone numbers and compares to their database to see who's using the apps and therefore, allow you to make calls.

even with 3g, i think it will be the same -- i might be wrong about this. does the 3g sim card have a number attached to it? if yes, then maybe its possible.

you might wanna post this Q to the viber thread in LYN forum. there's actually a viber rep answering Qs and reading our suggestions... that's why viber gets into my good books. they have ready support here...

i have just installed City Story (5mins ago) and it has got processes that is time dependent, similar to refinery in Gun Bros and the tasks in Bug Village. I am monitoring the background services and I dun see anything running for City Story.

maybe its poor programming... i dunno. i have two android devices -- tablet and phone. phone is the more critical device for me and on my phone, i install apps that i feel is 'safe'. that's why no GLU apps on my phone. on the tablet, i dun store anything critical there... so, let it be la... after a while, just do a factory reset.

if you want voice navigation, you need to hack/ mod your TF101 first (need root). reason is... voice navigation still not available officially for MY. i hear is due to some licensing issue. so, for now... navigation on TF101 is text only.

if you search back, i think some owners reported 1-2 software works... i think so... i can't recall...

if there's any accessory i wanna see, its the usb/ charger cable. one end is usb but the other end is proprietary port. i worry one day the cable will kaput since i use it on tablet and sometimes on dock... (charging purpose)

i would love to say go with tab 10... but i just can't... lol...

Asus TF has its advantages... you can use it like a notebook when you need to, its got microSD slot, USB on the dock... I think Tab10 does not have any external memory slot at all...

as for QC... i dun think there have been really any major issues. lightbleed... i consider as normal la. i dun really notice it unless its when we power up the tablet... even then, if you purposely look at it, then its obvious. else... you won't even know it. my wife uses it and she's not mentioned light bleed... so its ok.

however, when anyone wants to get a unit, i think owners here will agree... get the shop to agree to let you check thoroughly before you pay for it -- you can tell them you do not want a unit with even 1 dead pixel & the dock must have all working keys... that way, its also fair to them. else people can say silly things like... i dun like the colour, dowan to buy... and make sure they open the seal in front of you. the boxes are sealed... yes, that's why i mentioned earlier to be fair to them too...

honestly, i dun see anything as major issues... perhaps you do.

if you do... maybe you can list your concerns here for us to see? that way, you can also decide objectively if its an issue or non issue.

for most of us, its a non-issue and we're happy to have our freedom to do what we want and not be dictated. it's something that we just can't put a value on...

to answer you:
* speakers imbalance -- not yet but could be easily fixed. just wondering why asus taking so long. to be honest, i dun even know if mine is affected. i can hear sound. fine with me... lol

* keyboard keys not working, keyboard not recognised -- first time hearing this. i think like i mentioned before, just test everything before you pay for the unit. tell the shop what you wanna do and make sure they agree. and make sure they break the seal in front of you.

* battery drain -- depends on one's definition of battery drain. if leave wifi on... expect battery to be 'used'. but i think if one shuts down the tablet, one should not have such issue.

* camera apps not working -- first time hearing as well...

* frequent crashes -- again, first time hearing as well. apps crashing as in Force Close? once in a while... but that's more to do with the apps.

* etc -- do list your etc so we can help clarify...

not sure if KFC still got that free Transformer (the movie, not the tablet) case...

i think everyone here would have heard... Google is buying up Motorola Mobility... what happens to Android in the future is a guess for now...

yes... got coz when i play Ben The Talking Dog, it can record what i say... btw, the Ben apps sucks. He's an ill-mannered dog.

i have not had the time to do a proper test yet (wife and son hogging the tablet and dun have enough of tablet free time) but yes... from the general observation on my own TF... i have to say:
* the dock itself discharges battery quite fast (even when tablet is not docked)
* discharging is also fast when tablet is docked -- even if its on standby

observations made based on:
* charging both together and then undocking and leaving dock alone
* docked the tablet later on and using the dual battery widget to show the battery level

for the discharging when docked... could be apps i installed... but again, no time to do proper and more scientific testing.

i remember a few nights ago, my tablet went to 0% from about 60% battery in 24hrs even though it was supposedly on standby. i suspect its one of the apps... though not sure which.

i can't remember the exact date but i know it happened just the past week or so. i was quite surprised the next night i wanted to use it (entertain my son), i could not start it up. ended up having to let my son play car racing with the dock.

hmmm... this is weird... coincidence?

yup, when docked, discharging is quite fast.

but for this, it was not docked.



not very scientific or proper measurement... but from what i can roughly tell, when undocked, it seems ok except for that incident quoted above. in standby and some use every day, can last me about 3 days.

asking here is always better than asking at sgs2 thread... lolz... here, i can get better replies...

anyway, i just noticed there's an apps called:
Mobo Video Player (v5) by Video Team.

i have installed MoboPlayer by Mobo Team.

The Mobo Team is the corect/ original one?

* keyboard lag <-- do they recognise this as an official issue?!?
* shy speakers <-- again, i wonder if asus is acknowledging this as an official issue.
