hey guys,

I'd like to have volume controls in the status bar.

is there any app/tweak available for TF101 so  that the volume could be controlled from the status bar, just like brightness.

thanks in advance

thanks mikeeeee. that means they didn't update their asus gallery. bummer. there's a bug in the gallery that if an image does not have preview thumbnails in it, it won't load and won't show up as selectable. oh well.
*
well, the gallery app does not FC when i try to view details of an image, so i guess something must have changed...

Just bought my TF101 c/w dock @ Rm 17xx tongue.gif Add me in the list. Thanks

Batch is B80, no yellowish tint but speaker on right is still louder than left (sigh) got to live with that. adroid is version 3.1
*
mine B70 also not yellowish.

1) update to latest FOTA 8.6.5.9

2) try to root it - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185104

3) Win !!

my stock ROM 8.6.5.9 is rooted using the script for 8.6.5.7 so i'm gonna re-root it.

i'm probably not going to flash recovery again. sticking with stock recovery for now... unless i feel like going to custom ROM...

Going to fully charge it and update to latest firmware. No intention to root it. But sadly the sound output is really obvious. Right is so loud till left no sound.
*
mine sounds equal left and right. tried boosting with Volume+ and listen to both sides, still equal.

Volume+ / Voodoo patch really makes a difference esp. with some vidoes that have low volume...

I was wondering whether should i stick with 3.1 or move to 3.2

B80 can use iphone wifi tethering on the spot.
*
of cos move to HC 3.2, since you plan not to root it or install custom ROM you should go right to the latest 8.6.5.9

Is the dock self draining battery juice still an issue? Mine under B80 still drains but only a few percentage.

B80 and B70 docks already using new chipset should not drain anymore...

BTW those with serial number B80 can be rooted or does it share the same fate as those with B70?
*
i think some of B70 and all of B80...

its just a matter of time before they c**** the secure key...

if someone sponsored a supercomputer or cloud array i'm sure it would be done by now..

the browser keyboard lag seems to be better after 8.6.5.9

but i've also disabled the flash plugin, from 'on demand' i changed to disabled

on 8.6.5.6, even disabling flash did not improve keyboard lag...

i'd rather sacrifice adobe flash for a better browser experience...

The only thing I hate about Asus TF101 is that damn cable had to be USB3.0 with extra 5 pins inside. I can't use portable charger because all USB 2.0 only. I'd leave no choice but to get another AC charger set c/w cable from Asus. How nice they produce in-car charger.

This hybrid netbook needs USB3.0 to charge (like it or not)
*
it will charge from usb 2.0 only when you switch off the screen... (standby)...

i tried with my portable usb charger...

Really? Great! Then I'm going to invest one 6600maH portable charger since I can use it for my iPad2 too.

Anyway I found out even when is docked and doesn't charge the TF101, there is a tendency of "timer" whereby it will eventually charge from dock.

Fully charged the dock by 12am woke up at 8am found out 5% battery drained for the past 8 hours. The docked is left out and kept in the bag condition.
*
make sure your charger is capable of 5v 1000 mA at least or it wont charge either the Asus or the iPad2...

Yeap, I got iPad2 charger @ 2.1Amp and in-car charger Belkin 1Amp. Try tonight.

I wonder how mobile booster cam charge at only 500mA power?
*
sanyo eneloop mobile booster is 5volts@1Amp

Have you tried shutdown and turn on back again?

It happen to me too, there is time it charges and there it's time it doesn't. So it hover around 97% with dock
*
the charger is overheating, put it in the freezer for a while, not the place where you put vegetables but the freezer compartment where its dry.

Freezing it? are you sure? i've check the tempreature and is within safe usage " 32 celcius.
*
ambient temperature may be 32c but inside it might be warmer.

a lot of people have that issue from other forums that i read...

the charger is switching between higher amperage and lower amperage depending on whether you are charging with the dock or just the tablet

mine does not overheat because i just charge the tablet only...

Okay, i've tried charging on Belkin in-car charger 5V/1Amp on my tablet... kind of slow i would say.

Can i charge my dock (undocked from tablet) using USB2.0 port with 1amp power?

Added on August 30, 2011, 11:59 pmOne more thing,

do you guys use portable speaker rechargeable battery powered for your tablet such as razer Ferox and X-mini MAX 2?
*
yes, charging is very slow and only for emergency use. i wont expect it to even charge it to 50% from 1% charge remaining.

i am using x-mini II, a pair of it, its not the paired package of x-mini max II. the TF's output makes it jump if the song is bassy.

and that's without resorting to volume adjusting / tweaking sw.

ahh..thank you sir!  notworthy.gif .

money wise, i don't mind paying 2 dataplan bills (existing on my wildfire+this new broadband package if i want to go for the 3G tablet), but why pay more when i could have chosen the cheaper option, right?  blush.gif

anyway, i just read through some comparison articles between Transformer and Tab 10.1. i think i'm gonna go for the former. have yet to decide tho, gona go hunting next week tongue.gif.
*
both infact using the same SoC,

the main difference being -

1) Asus TF - IPS screen, microsd slot, keyboard dock option

2) Samsung Tab 10.1 - slim, slim, slim
