QUOTE Asus Reveals “Transformer Prime,” Padfone Availability and Plans For ICS UpdateThat wasn’t the only bomb Mr. Shih dropped during the interview. First, Asus plans on updating current Asus Transformers to the newly announced Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich before the end of the year. Second, Asus also plans to ship the Padfone during 1st quarter of next year and running on none other than, you guessed it — Ice Cream Sandwich. As a refresher, the Padfone is essentially a tablet “shell” that allows a user to dock a phone into it then using the smartphone as the “brain” of the device. Ever since it was announced, it seemed like an ideal device to be running Ice Cream Sandwich as the updated Android OS now supports both smartphone and tablet functionality. i love you, asus...

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Oct 20 2011, 10:58 AM) i love you, asus... yeap, good news. but HoneyComb -> ICS isn't too big a change that's why I think its not difficult to upgrade it to ICS. but its good to see ASUS taking the first step to announce this and potentially be the first manufacturer to release ICS for tablets.

Its a bigger leap if you're talking about GingerBread to ICS which is why a lot of manufacturers are keeping quiet at the moment because I think ICS represents a big change just like HoneyComb was, so if they were to add their custom UI on top they have to redesign it too..

What's your preferred browser? I use Dolphin for Pad, but it's still quite buggy though. Tried Opera - don't like, Maxthon - searches goes to Japanese Google, Skyfire - constant crashes.

Added on October 20, 2011, 1:27 pmQUOTE(kinkikids @ Oct 19 2011, 11:09 AM) Hi there, I want to get myself a tablet and decided that Eee Pad is my cup of tea. I am getting a 4 months used unit at RM1100, without keyboard dock, screen protector and leather case, do you think the price is reasonable? My colleagues is going to US soon, should i just ask her to get a new unit for me there? Do you have any idea about US street price? Or should i wait for the TF2 and expect to get about RM1.3K new? Thanks in advance. I strongly urge you to wait for TF Prime! The look kills!!! This post has been edited by kw91043: Oct 20 2011, 01:27 PM

i dont think any third party keyboard can give a proper challenge compared to the original keyboard dock. spec sheet advantage: 1) 2 usb ports 2) card reader 3) touch pad 4) dedicated HC buttons 5) It charges your tab instead of draining it compared to BT keyboards
