Certain device such as my phone will also charge when it reach below then 95%. I read about it somewhere that it is to reduce the number of charging cycle.
Lets say if you device is without such system, whenever it reach 99% it will charge, again and again overnight, so if 1% every 3 hours, then 3 charge per night.

Btw, my screen got a line of dead pixel!!!  rclxub.gif  can claim warranty ar?
*
a whole line of dead pixel ???? wow .. can share some pics ??

if its a whole line across the screen, definitely can claim warranty ..

my browser suddenly become full screen after my sister play with it.how to undo that? try menu+P for browser settings but nothing happen.any suggestion?
*
i think your sister enabled quick controls in the settings.

now to reverse it
1) open your browser
2) slide your finger from the left or right bezel to the screen and hold
3) slide your finger to the settings icon and lift your finger up
4) goto labs , uncheck quick controls

frankly speaking, if there are both 3g and non 3g model to choose now, I will still buy the non 3g model cuz I don't see the need to have always on broadband for the tab. tab is different from phone, u don't have it by your side 24/7 like your phone.

for me, I only need internet for the tab when I'm actually using it which most of the time I'm either in wifi zone or I'll be tethering from my phone.

but that's me la, I find this combination is better haha and my friend with a 3g Ipad 2 agrees with me and now regretting lol, he say should have gotten the none 3g ipad instead

The rebooting issue... I saw the TF booting up by itself even though I shut down before charging. Scary... really got autobot/decepticon inside tongue.gif
huh!!!!? I thought that's the behaviour by design? if u shutdown tf 1st then plug in the charger and charge its design to boot up, this will happen every time cause its meant to be like this.

however, if u really want to charge your tf in shutdown mode then u should charge tf while its on then only shutdown while its charging. then tf will stay shutdown until u manually turn it on again.

QUOTE(BBXiong @ Jul 20 2011, 12:12 PM)
for tethering, there are 3 kinds right now,
first, USB tethering, which means cable tethering, but needs driver from the connecting side to support it
second, Bluetooth tethering. It uses bluetooth to connect to ur device, and ur device will use ur phone as a bluetooth modem to connect to the internet
third, Wifi tethering. It use the built in wifi to let ur phone act as a router-alike device, allowing more then one device to connect and share ur 3G connection.

for now, TF supports 2 and 3, so there's no need of cable. However i would suggest using bluetooth tethering, cos it uses a lot less battery compared to Wifi tethering, and u don have to worry that someone might tap into ur connection. Also, Wifi tethering have 2 type as i know, Hotspot and Ad-Hoc. Hotspot will show ur Wifi as if it's from a router, like iOS 4.3 tethering, while Ad-Hoc would be like connection to another peer device. The latter is not supported in TF unless u apply some fix which require rooting.

anything that other find wrong or misleading feel free to correct me, this is based on my own understanding on tethering  icon_rolleyes.gif

perfecto explanation ! should be included in first page smile.gif

hi,

anyone here using wifi tethering via a Huawei Ideos X5? or any Froyo and above phone's hotspot is compatible to the TF101?

thanks!
*
yes, I'm using Huawei Ideos X5 built in wifi hotspot for tethering, works as advertised smile.gif (no root required as the hotspot is infrastructure mode)

u mean in portrait and upside down mode? that was some tegra 2 issue, i read somewhere that tegra 2 cannot handle orientation rotation, so any orientation except for the default would be rendered in software mode.. maybe they finally found a solution to it
*
Was referring to the default mode, too bad the portrait and upside down mode still stutters :-(

whats the point of unrooting to get FOTA ? and to reroot it only moments after ?

its not like the changes fixes critical problems that must be installed ASAP or the Transformer will have major flaw. Wonder why everyone must be the first tongue.gif (not referring to anyone, just a general statement from my observation)

My way, wait till i see feedback from 3.2 users first. Stable n good, then i'll update, if buggy i'm happy to stay at 3.1 while the issues are iron out tongue.gif
