Hi,
I just want to ask everyone here, did you purchase the 3 years extended warranty when you bought your ThinkPad? Is this option worth the RM800 price which worked to RM400 per year (2 extended years + 1 )? Or is it more worth it to send it to non-IBM-authorised repairman if its broken after the warranty? I'm in a dilemma! Please advice. WT |

no idea, cos I always buy the thinkpad with 3yrs warranty one.
But then for some R series it is better for you to buy the extended warranty plan as notebook LCD and motherboard parts are very expensive if buy from retail shop. |

May be an old model but the IBM X-Series is a high end model.

Yes... IBM never seems to change the squarish Thinkpad design. Always the same look. But if you take one look you know it is an IBM.

Hello guys,
IBM owns share in lenovo (some 13% i think). Thinkpad is IBM designed & trademark, so of course the design wont change. Its tough and durable- well known- PS: i dont work for Lenovo ok, so im not trying to sell their products!!! |

I have a question;
I own an IBM R51. I just downloaded their latest drivers and updates because my laptop has been running too slow and lagging. I did see some changes after all the downloads but there is one BIOS upgrade which I am relatively confused. I restarted my PC, and they prompt me a table DOS style with a Main Menu printed on the top. I did what was instructed but there was no telling whether the BIOS is being updated or anything. So I exit the Main Menu without updating my BIOS I am curious is is necessary because it wrote Mandatory but nothing happened when I tried to update it. Did anyone know what am I talking about and succeeded in doing it which could tell me what to do? Another question is; do you realised the ventilation fan is very loud?! Or is it because of my laptop only? |
