To enjoy your BD 100% you really must see the PQ and hear the AQ as they both work hand in hand (or eye and ear in this case). For those of you still not having a home theatre (either in a box or in many boxes) you are missing a large part of the fun. You don't really need a 7.1 system but at least a 5.1 system (or 5.0 for those not into the boom boom bang) to feel the ambience and immerse yourself inside the movie. You need not spend a fortune (unless you have one) and can always start with a basic one. Space should also not be an issue, just look at my setup in this thread, post #1303 and #1318. This is definitely not an ideal case but good enough for me to enjoy my BD collection. thumbup.gif Just my view. (BTW, this only applies to those BD with good AQ, some are just like in 2.0 only.)

I am also considering to get a cheap HT set maybe satellite set but now no money  cry.gif But I not really into the "kaboom boom boom"

I enjoy/love movie with lovely PQ for me the dialogue is importance

Sometimes it is a bit frustrating the TV volume have to be turn to 30+ only then can hear the dialogue clearly  doh.gif

Hi Bro,

Its not all about loudness.. u get a clearer dialog too cos of a dedicated ctr channel - tats why u find it hard to catch wif jus de tv spkrs. .plus if u hv decent spkrs, it makes de musical score really make you feel de vibes tat was meant to be..
Overall it jus make movie watchin closer to wat de director intended..

I am impressed..... by your racks of books! it's a mini library. Haha

on a serious note, looks like your HT set up is little space consuming.

hi all,

something very funny to share with, about our CUSTOM blush.gif

1 - i placed 1 order around RM440, AMZ DE break to 4 shipment & send it all out together
2 - i received a letter from CUSTOM my shipment kena tahan, cry.gif they gave me the package item code no.
3 - this morning before i went to CUSTOM, my AMZ DE 4 shipments all arrived! rclxms.gif
however, all 4 items are not the item kena tahan, hmm.gif if based on the item code from the CUSTOM letter
4 - i kind of consued, rclxub.gif so i tried to call custom 4 to 5 times to verify, but no body answer the call vmad.gif
5 - so i went to CUSTOM to figure out, i thought AMAZON might send some gift for me, or this is the lost items (few months ago, i got few MIA items)

guess what, CUSTOM made a mistake, it is not my package! mad.gif it is a big box belongs to some other dudes. How could CUSTOM made such mistake? and guess what, as usual, no apology been given, the custom officer is as cool as ARNORLD in TERMINATOR 1 (bad guy). cool2.gif after he realiesd they made mistake, he quickly took away my letter, he kept asking me haven't i received my package, i purposely said no, so he asked me to go home & wait for it.

it took me 2 hours,.

but the good news is AMAZON DE improved the packing a lot!, i mean really a lot!!!! rclxms.gif

all steelbook arrived in excellent condition. wrap up nicely, after open a big box, then came with another small box with bubble wrapping.

in future, AMZ DE is my 1st choice for steelbook.

brother ANDREW & NAZ,

i think all of us are not saying u guys need to buy a fancy loud n expensive HT system, what we tryin to point out is instead spend RM1K in bluray, u might spend a little bit less, save a portion , may be 30% in your HT system, think of this way, 1 HT can allow u to have dif experience on all your existing hundreds bluray biggrin.gif

Ya, surrounding do make impact on movie experience. But I am a kind of watching film as I feel it, I won't buy a film just for how great the sound output are if the film itself is bad.

Thanks for the reply, actually I own before a HTiB during DVD time, I know how it sound, and surround do impressive, but I am surprise impress with my current Samsung TV sound quality as well, origin setting sound is awful, but after some adjustment, it sound as great as you can't believe it is out from a TV set.

That the main reason I not so hurry on purchase another HTiB or HT (probably won't forever) set.

Typical..

Govt dept mentality.. tink they are god..
I dont tink he will apologize [ unless he remembered his PR 'kursus' ] - its too beneath him but if not mistaken de letter u rcvd is not frm him but frm sumbody else [ could it be frm de main KL receiving kastam house?? ] , he just handle de receipts..
I kena once to go collect a less than rm500 pckg .. but aftr I jack jack a bit - he did say they shouldnt have sent to his dept cos its less than rm 500..

Anyway.. its gud to hear tat everytin turned well ..

In spite of de lost time/effort..

All 3 I skip, ops! I never so like on Robin Williams, I think I seen most his old film, but till now seems not much is given me a reason for purchasing the BD as collect / re-watch. Maybe the only I will grab possibility is Good will Hunting. The rest... sorry... never in my wish list before.

As for Unleashed, it ain't bad but not in my purchase list as well.

Dead poets society is an academically inclined [read school type flick ] n is similar to Good will Hunting.. I prefer Dead Poets society but then again Good will hunting got a young n fledgeling Ben Affleck n Matt Damon [ they are buddys in real life too ] la
