I see, slipcover I am not sure got or not, but I am the type of person who only watch the movie once, then blu-ray put in closed cupboard.. and I dont really use the DVD nor the digital copy..

but then, I probably wont buy it cause this movie's aspect ratio is  2.40:1 which is horrible for my TV.. summore + its 3d. hayoo

Not full screen + the infamous Crosstalk on LG LX6500 =  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

recommend me a good 3D movie, that is full screen, and not too expensive...
*
No 2.40:1 ... hmmmm ... Even though I love 1.78:1 or 1.85:1 but I won't reject on 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 and above, or even 1.33:1 as I prefer watching movie in origin aspect ratio. They is nothing horrible in it, you will get use to it after a while and appreciate it as actually 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 is the most beauty aspect ratio for film.

Example few below is movie in 3D with aspect ratio of 1.85:1 or 1.78:1

There shd be 10% discount, right?

I just bought Rio 2D from Speedy - cost me RM99. and it is without slipcover. Nevertheless, I am not too concern about the slipcover.

Basically, the Rio sold locally is Asian version which have dubbing in Cantonese and Mandarin by famous HK actor/actress. It is so funny as compared to English - to my opinion. Thus, I have no choice but to buy it locally even though it is more expensive as compared to AMZ. For the local copy, they come with a ticket to bird-park KL as well as some kind of colouring contest for kid.

The last time, I also bought Legend of the Guardian from Speedy and enter the contest and won a small hamper with all the Legend of the Guardian merchandise. Have to go to the Speedy HQ in Kampung Pandan and they took picture with me as well. Ha Ha Ha.

Once buy, don't check the price.

I also seen the 2D version at speedy, but the packaging and price .. say bye bye for me. I won't spend more in same thing with lousy packaging unless no choice.

Is Underworld Trilogy a good buy? any other from your list tops it?

Definitely worth buying, I've ordered it myself. Nice vampire movies, all three of them. And a very very hot Kate Beckinsale. You can't go wrong with this combo. tongue.gif

Not all SPEEDO bds have crappy packaging & quality... some are produced by licensed manufacturer of major studios. The HVN-produced ones are the crappy ones though... tongue.gif So far I have only one SPEEDO-purchased bd and that is the steelbook version of Avatar - very nice made! But I do agree on the pricing part... not worth for the normal bd. nod.gif

I know, but 95% out of 100% is crap packaging. How many title you seen with slipcover, with steelbook, with Digibook, with Digipack, with better boxset? Most boxset packaging also like UK packaging not US packaging.

I only seen steelbook of Avatar, Green Lantern, That it is | slipcover of Star Trek | Digipack of Celine Dion - A New Day | Boxset of LOTR, Superman, Spiderman, Shrek(import version, same from US, no local subtitle also)

The rest I seen is standard Amaray Case.

and Avatar steelbook & Shrek Boxset is the only Speedy I own which is nice in packaging.

+ importantly no value for money, it is higher price.

Can't answer you, want safe, get from eBay as eBay can ask for actual photo taken and in details.

I prefer my movies in 2.35:1 or 2.40:1, even animation.

Example animation from Pixar framed in 1.85:1

Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and Up

Example animation from Pixar framed in 2:35:1

A Bug's Life, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, and WALL-E

All in all, give me 2.35:1 or 2.40:1 any day.

Thx, not that I dont like 2:35:1 movies, but the amount of flashlighting on my TV makes watching movies with black bars unwatchable.. and the black bars are so gray... not true black...

flashlighting?

well, at least watching a 2.35:1 ratio movie on 16:9 tv is not that bad as compared to on a 4:3 tv... where the black bars are unacceptable!

Finish watching yesterday, RIO is simple but entertaining. It is extremely gorgeous look, colorful, vibrant & stunning! and I love all the song inside, even though I found it not so origin, a big shadow of Madagascar song rhythm.

The Film: 4 Star
PQ: 5 Star
AQ: 5 Star
Extra: 4 Star
