If during BF cheap cheap, I may buy the globe edition for decoration, as for now, sorry la, not tempting.

I more prefer UK edition for BBC film. wink.gif

It will be the ultimate versions, the ones being released in Oct.

Plus, the LE is limited and numbered. So, might not be around that long.

If for example you receive any new title without a slipcover (provided it should have a slipcover). Merely contact Amazon customer support and they will fix the problem. The only disc recently that had slipcover issues in the beginning was Summer Wars. The first press was only sent to one fulfillment center, the others just received 2nd prints. So only people in a certain area received their disc with slipcovers.

But with most titles, you should be able to obtain slipcovers months after the release date. Just certain titles like Disneynature ones that stopped shipping with slipcovers 1 month after being released.

Noob question How to know if the release got slipcover or not because some time I pre ordered but no slips for example Resident Evil 4  doh.gif

That information you'll have to obtain from the blu-ray forums. Sometimes pictures of the blu-rays (in advertisements) will provide the answers and you'll be able to see the slipcover in the picture. Sometimes a user on the forums will obtain a copy earlier and can confirm the slipcover (you'll be interested to know that blu-rays ship to Hong Kong up to 4 weeks before release and some shops there sell it to the public before release date) and sometimes it just has to do with the distributors and whether or not they make it a habit of releasing titles with slipcovers, etc. But it's tough to confirm from pictures because sometimes the distributors decide not to include a slipcover last minute. But most will be confirmed a few weeks before release.

I would advise just enjoying high definition movies and not worrying too much about packaging. Wouldn't want it to start influencing the way you buy your titles (not buying it because it doesn't come with a slipcover, purchasing it from other expensive sources just to find a slipcover, buying a different edition of a title just because the slipcover/packaging is different, etc). In the end, it's not really worth it (at least to me). It's a long and expensive road. Nowadays, I just want the movie.

Slipcovers eh? I don't really mind if there's no slipcover but as long as there are no short of information regarding the movie and/or the technical features.

For instance: if the movie synopsis, filmmakers credit and blu-ray technical specs also appear on the backcover casing, then it's ok for me. If otherwise, then it's a no-no... like G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, there's no info on the backcover... and my order came without slipcover!  rclxub.gif
*
Like Star Trek, Tranformers ROTF Walmart Edition, and a few others smile.gif It's pretty annoying when you don't get the slipcover and there's no information on both sides of the cover art.

Andrewtst, X-Men: First Class got 2 different slipcover to choice. One featuring Charles Xavier and his young mutant students and the other featuring Magneto and Sebastian Shaw's followers.  You want to order both?  tongue.gif

That's where the problem begins!

I have given all that up thank goodness smile.gif Those days, I would have obtained both copies just for slipcovers.

wow andrewtst, that's like, 3000 packets of nasi lemak

luckily im satisfied with DVD upscaling on my small TV, just gonna get classic films on bluray that I will watch often, like Color Purple, Tron oringinal , Starwars. When I buy bluray I ask myself , "How often do i watch this? "
*
Excellent question that. There are movies I watch over and over. But documentaries are the ones I watch the most. So I buy a ton of documentaries now.

Not sure if you have these yet but get em:-

Earth: The Biography
How the Earth Changed History
Wild Pacific
Wonders of the Solar System
Madagascar
Wonders Of The Universe
The Great Rift: Africa's Greatest Story
Yellowstone: Battle for Life
Galapagos
Ganges
Wild China
Inside Job
Food, Inc

Discovery Atlas isn't too bad either, there's China, Italy, Australia and Brazil revealed. The rest are not released yet.

Don't bother with the complete collection. It's incomplete and cut short by almost 20-30 minutes.

I have Wild Pacific, Galapagos & Wild China.......  in The BBC Natural History Collection UK Edition.
Madagascar, Galapagos & Wonders of the Solar System already in planning. The rest will look to it, thanks a lot smile.gif

The Discovery Atlas - China, Italy, Brazil & Australia I plan to buy last time, but I can't find slipcover edition, even at eBay, end up I temp on hold it.
*
The BBC Natural History Collection differs in content if the US/UK versions are compared. Really weird that.

I'd also suggest:-

Disneynature Earth
Disneynature Oceans
Disneynature The Crimson Wing
Nature's Most Amazing Events (I think that's in your BBC NH collection)
National Geographic's Great Migrations

Hmmm, that's the problem once you start looking for slipcovers. You end up sacrificing because you can't find the piece of cardboard smile.gif

Ya different, and I purposely choose UK edition as I don't need Planet Earth and Life which I already have.

All Disneynature surely get, hehe... but need to arrange arrange 1st, see which to take 1st.

Ya, the Nature's Most Amazing Events is in my BBC NH Collection

I got National Geographic: Great Migrations already.
*
Also Disneynature African Cats will be released in October. Don't forget to pre-order if you want the slipcover. Those slipcovers generally don't last too long after release.

Actually my friend last two weeks just get Disneynature earth and ocean, still came with slipcover... smile.gif I think Disney slipcover is not that fast gone and rare.

Anyway............ maybe i get from eBay, as can more confirm got slipcover or not.

That African Cats already plan in pre-order.

Where from? Amazon? Earth is a pretty old title. Slipcover doesn't come by that easy. and Oceans too.
