The pricing is all wrong.it is an old engine.possibly an old platform as well but perhaps enhanced. And the competitors are selling all round better values at 10k less. Yes toyota the brand is valuable but it WILL NOT do it this time

now people buy what they want brand or not. Yes it was the 'brand' that decides but now no longer. People kept banging about tax this that even one pratt amazingly blame an old man for camry high otr price.however the real culprit is, i'm afraid, umw.

At 130k oso can make money (after those taxes).perhaps 10-15k PER CAR. but otr 150k means bigger money. I am proposing a win win solution. Better sales AND profits.

Price the 2.0L at 130k.otr or not doesnt matter.i will be a confirm buyer. So now u have a confirm buyer umw. Ball is in ur court. What say u?

PM me umw

Toyota do their homework liao de. Their main target are ppl who use car as utility and most likely use nokia 1200 phones.

I check the spec liao, vs the Teana its no big diff, only diff is about 8K in price, i am sure Toyota will diskaun a bit on the car for existing owner and also give good value for trade in, still more attractive considering its all-new.

I refer to 2.0E btw.

Where is this one all new?

To me the Toyota to get is either the Prius C or the Prius. Both come with 7 airbags and VSC, and image? I mean one half of Hollywood is driving in Priuses. Both cars are cheaper than the Camry too. FC is lower as well, all for the small price of getting a smaller car. But both are much much safer than the Camry.

Anyway, it's not that ugly. Outdated, yes, but that's to be expected from a D segment car. That's what the buyers are usually looking for... those that can actually afford them.

I personally would go for the Skoda Superb. A bit more expensive, yes, but also above D segment. That's the one to get. Also a brand that I kind of like. Good cars, good price, and underdogs (at least here).

laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Seriously? wow. But well, is it needed in Malaysia anyway? Most kids I see in cars seem to be not restraint at all. First to die in a crash. Never seen a child seat before here, so no need for ISOFIX too. Toyota can save a few bucks there.

UMW does not show any mercy ever since the introduction of the CT200H which is supposed to be tax free. hmm.gif

Well, if they'd sell it for the price they could sell it for, who would buy their other cars? The Prius C and Prius are already quite a problem... the C is only 20k more than the Vios, but so much better and safer. It's even (in certain areas, such as safety) better than the Camry, though much cheaper.

You too bro, Hope you don't put much time on your toys rather to get a real life. Btw, it is indeed rare to see someone having eccentricity hobby and enthusiasm towards car. Cheers.

Get a real life? Hm.....??? Dude, are u showing your 'unique' sense of humour again? I must admit that it is quite hard to comprehend.... hahahaha! (Your previous attempt in Kizashi thread was a phenomenal one indeed!)

Thanks for your concern, it's one of my favorite pastime and I'm living in a very real life, so do other collectors who share similar hobby. But your advise is taken, I should probably slim down my hobbies and concentrate more on cars!

Anyway.... to enlighten you a little, collecting toys (or shall I call them collectibles?) is not a strange thing at all. There are lots of collectors around us. In fact, inside LYN there is actually a thread to discuss this, kindly refer to this Lowyat Toys forum if you wish to know more. However, these collectibles are quite costly, probably not meant for kids.

Cheers!

Surprisingly this thread is super quiet considering the launch over the weekend. Was at the showroom. They had a white 2.5 with body kits. 1st impression is....cant they do something to the body kits. The place where they are stuck to the car, u can clearly see the blackstrips. Poor workmanship.

As for the car, 1st glance....its a bigger size altis and has somehow lost its luxury status. Middle arm rest is pretty small for a class of its size. With the door shut, i felt somehow I am in an altis rather than a camry.

The back lights somehow remind me of the camry 2 generations ago.....

I comprehend that toy is a common interest for collecting. Your toy collecting is a hobby. You actually could be sitting on a gold mine. Some toys that are from the past are worth a lot of money. Collecting is fun, and if you keep going, some day you could decide to sell your toys and retire to the Bahamas. Your mate should be happy you collect toys, else, you could be collecting knives, guns or something equally scary.

Since you assume me as a pre-adult or kid, you should be glad to meet a pre-adult/kid who knows something about cars/interest in cars which I expect not many people in my age share similar interest in. At least I have interest in something that is useful to my future but not funny thingy. Plus I shall take your advise to avoid waxing hair to school. If you were warned, you could notice that my posts were covered in Musician thread, Education thread, Lifestyle thread, Health thread and this thread. That shows I do not only emphasize on my appearance. smile.gif I think we should bury the hatchet? If I posted some wrong information in the lowyat forum after this, I welcome you to correct it.

Edit- Cheers.
