Need to ask this. I installed Villian ROM and then updated via Villian Tweak update for Vanilla Android Email (not Gmail) client.
Now, whenever I open my Email button, it shows have to force closed. So what should i do? |

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jul 8 2011, 02:37 PM) its friday... so letting you guys have a good laugh at my expense... lol, the keypad thingy also happened to me, i was like wtf, how do i dial the number? and it was hidden there. hahahajust got my 1st 'official' call on my sgs2. earlier on, had tested calling myself from the office after i inserted the sim card. anyway, wanted to answer this official, so pressed the green icon... ...eh, how come phone still ringing? ...pressed again the green button... still ringing. panic... its an overseas call... means important. ...press and press again the green button. still nothing. press other buttons... nothing. call ended. officially, my first miss call. ...then tried to call back. press the phone button. ...eh, what the heck happened to the keypad. how come only see call notification?!? press back. then press phone again. same thing. no keypad. ...repeat 2 more times... thinking... what the heck is wrong with this phone? sim card rosak? why no more keypad? then realised... the keypad tab was 'hidden' -- scrolled and found it. tested calling myself from office and see how to answer call... now i know. swipe. hope you guys had a good laugh. now i can understand how i member posted earlier about boss not answering his call. member posted the boss just got the sgs2 and figuring out how to answer... there was a guy i met in LRT also had this problem. |

QUOTE(sunnyboy @ Jul 8 2011, 01:35 PM) i try to use adb remount, but it show: You need Superuser access to use this function. After connecting your phone to PC (Make sure your phone screen is active and not showing lock screen), type SU at ADB terminal and the phone will pop up Superuser access permission. remount failed: Operation not permitted why this is happening? QUOTE(KennyKB @ Jul 8 2011, 01:46 PM) Hello Galaxy S2 pioneers, Stock to stock there is not much difference but once SGS1 uses Voodoo tweak, there difference is a lot especially using an audiophile headphone.I just want to ask how is the music audio quality? The S2 uses a Yamaha DAC which is not very highly rated compared to the Wolfson DAC in the Galaxy S. For those who upgraded how is the sound quality compared to the S? For those who have used iphone 3gs/4 before how does it compare? Music playback is very important to me so I have to find out first before I jump in. Now I'm searching for SGS1 or Nexus S. Regret selling my SGS1 QUOTE(afad @ Jul 8 2011, 02:29 PM) Yes, I did this first thing after I rooted my phone. Use XDA guide to help you. IMHO, rom from Cyanogen and MIUI tend to mess up with this folder. This post has been edited by Bugeca: Jul 8 2011, 03:08 PM |

QUOTE(afad @ Jul 8 2011, 03:16 PM) yeah, i backup alrdy, Ok, you're doing the right thing. As long as you have .img and .tar. Next, copy those files out from phone and keep it in your pc.but i used terminal emulator, dont know how to use adb (still learning:blush:) is it correct that what it did is create 1 EFS folder in the sdcard in .tar format, and the other 1 is the image file in the EFS folder even tho i followed the guide, im confused, what are we going to do with it if we happen to corrupt the EFS folder? how are we going to restore it? To check .tar file, just use any file compression software like 7zip to view. You should see the same files and folder as your phone. For .IMG, the size of the file is equivalent to EFS partition size. You may mount it (if using linux) to see the innards but I have not done that yet so cannot verify on it. |

To check your partition size, you need to use ADB terminal or install terminal app in your phone. CODE #df Look for /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 |

QUOTE(KennyKB @ Jul 8 2011, 01:46 PM) Hello Galaxy S2 pioneers, It simply DOESN'T compare to an iPhone 4 (I dunno about the 3GS) - but for my semi-audiophile ears, it's serviceable. I run it with FA Eternas (V2, my V1 died out) with a Impedence Adapter - same setup I ran on the i4 - and my ears aren't actually bleeding, so it's okay.I just want to ask how is the music audio quality? The S2 uses a Yamaha DAC which is not very highly rated compared to the Wolfson DAC in the Galaxy S. For those who upgraded how is the sound quality compared to the S? For those who have used iphone 3gs/4 before how does it compare? Music playback is very important to me so I have to find out first before I jump in. Also, somehow, MP3/AAC playback with the stock player at normal portable bitrates (128/192/256) sounds like crap compared to using the CM7 DSP + Player mod so it might ALSO be a software issue - even though the DAC is NOT that good, the stock player on the SGS2 MIGHT be making it worse. But, as I have said once before, as this thing is rocking a USB-OTG port, there will ALWAYS be a possibility that one day, it will be able to ran an EXTERNAL USB DAC-AMP setup, which WILL result in mind-blowing SQ. In conclusion, it's not as bad as you might think (I've definitely heard worse) but at the same time, it's not on the same level AT ALL as the iPhone 4 in terms of overall SQ.
