press the top of your screen, a small bar will pop out which you use to pull the notification down, dont pull it down but instead u slide left or right to adjust brightness. ONLY works if u disable auto brightness

your backup setting might not be correct....u should select backup all apps and data

or better still backup using nandroid !.....

like me i have like several nandroid backups ranging from stock rom, vilain, lite ning, and few more...so when its corrupted i just format, clear cache, wipe dalvik cache etc then boot to CWM recovery mode and install the nandroid backups...no need to reinstall the apps whatever...it will install the rom plus the apps and all the data/setting as it is !

What you guys used to do nandroid backup? For me I use ClockWorkMod... and everytime i do a backup it will create a folder name with date and time (accurate to seconds) so it will not overwrite the old one no matter how. So I have multiple backups each in different folders

If you're using clockworkmod then the nandroid backup will be located in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup folder

I use my ipad ( 2100mA) USB charger to charge my phone. I'd say minimum get a 1000mA - buy Mckay or Belkin. RM 10 type of charger is those cheap unreliable types - really suspect the voltage input - if it is less than 1000mA type - unlikely it will fried your phone. I read several posts back some guys selling Mugen for RM 15 , which I highly doubt is original as genuine Mugen will not cost less than RM 80. Anyway nowaduys plenty of fakes/imitations/copy brands in market
Papago /GPS  consumes and draws a lot of power - if you are using those normal 500-700mA charger, the consumption is higher than the charging. So best solution, get the 2100mA type ( easiest get those can charge Galaxy Tab/iPad with output 2100mA)

I buy from Apple store - either Griffin or Kensington, cost about RM80+ - specify can charge iPad. These are just USB port car charger - so just plug in your microUSB cable to charge

It will show the IMEI no does not matter which ROM you're using unless your have corrupted EFS folder.

anyway, wanted to answer this official, so pressed the green icon...

...eh, how come phone still ringing?

...pressed again the green button... still ringing.

panic... its an overseas call... means important.

...press and press again the green button. still nothing.

press other buttons... nothing.

call ended. officially, my first miss call.

...then tried to call back. press the phone button.

...eh, what the heck happened to the keypad. how come only see call notification?!? press back. then press phone again. same thing. no keypad.

...repeat 2 more times... thinking... what the heck is wrong with this phone? sim card rosak? why no more keypad?

then realised... the keypad tab was 'hidden' -- scrolled and found it.

tested calling myself from office and see how to answer call... now i know. swipe.

Yes, I did this first thing after I rooted my phone. Use XDA guide to help you. IMHO, rom from Cyanogen and MIUI tend to mess up with this folder.

Ok, you're doing the right thing. As long as you have .img and .tar. Next, copy those files out from phone and keep it in your pc.

To check .tar file, just use any file compression software like 7zip to view. You should see the same files and folder as your phone.

For .IMG, the size of the file is equivalent to EFS partition size. You may mount it (if using linux) to see the innards but I have not done that yet so cannot verify on it.

updating firmware as in the whole firmware or the camera firmware ?
