Looking for an amp for my iPhone 4 / UE Triple.fi. Being so small, I'm considering the Fiio E6 Headamp. I'm looking to up the bass response and maybe bring forward the mids abit. Will the E6 do this? Or does anyone have a better suggestion?

hi bros,

im using goldring 150 and hippo+ atm, quite happy with them, but dont like the fact that the hippo+ got no on off switch, where i have to unattach the head from the amp to preserve power.

Is there any amp that with on off button?

is there any amp that can charge and use without compromising the quality? (Because if charge and use the hippo+ at the same time, some distract sound will emerge)

Can you share with me my options?

and please do tell me more abot Fiio E17

Thanks

Hi

I'm not an audiophile but literally an audiomoron. My X-Fi Musicextreme finally bit the dust. So while looking for a replacement solution, i stumbled upon something called DAC.

My setup: Logitech Z-5300? I forgot. 5.1 speakers (with small head connectors). NOTE: I do not make use of the 5.1 speaker setup. My speakers are configured for 5.1 but my rear speakers are below my desk. Yes I am an audiomoron. It's been this way for nearly 10 years. So a 2.1 setup is probably what I really need if the speakers should be correctly configured.

My usage: Music, Movies (I do not need to listen to dog barking coming from behind me, as stated above) Stereo left to right is good enough. Occasional games, probably upcoming diablo 3.

To my ears, onboard sound card has always sounded bad, particularly those realtek. So I bought the X-fI and my habit is to turn on the equalizer, raise the bass slightly, not too much, and treble quite a bit. I think many will disagree.

I like flac but I do not listen to techno stuff. Mostly 40's Jazz, a lot of classical, retro and whatever old music. Most of them, not offered in great quality. There are lossless formats of those though.

OK.. So the problem now is, I'm trying to get a more modern setup.... but yet I don't really know what I need or want and people are going to diss my way of listening probably. I don't know what's good or not. I've always felt higher treble = greater clarity but please don't flame me, I really have no idea about all these. Haha.

So where do I start? My research has landed me here... seeing people are choosing DAC over soundcards. So now what?

If you are charging directly using the USB port of your PC/lappy, it may be a power supply issue. Is your audio source purely from your PC/lappy?

Pico Slim.

For the ultimate portable setup, there is only one way to go, Customs, iPod as transport with either the CLAS or the Fostex.

Here's mine:

No offence but the Pico looks like a toy, and being that small, it might slip out of my pocket and I wouldn't know it was gone! blink.gif

Sleek and very beautiful! drool.gif But the price is way over my budget since I'm considering something around Rm500 so I guess E11 is best bet. nod.gif If I ever do get the budget, that is definitely on portable setup's list if I ever upgrade to Customs. cool.gif

I can see that from your wish list. brows.gif Not much of the fan of the XBA-4s though, if I'm going to upgrade, it'll be customs next..... hopefully my wallet won't cry. sweat.gif

before u go for custom, please do some real considerations, cause when it goes down to customs, it will be quite a journey.. and needs some time to get used to, you will feel real uncomfortable at first couple weeks up to months, must live through hell before heaven

Unfortunately no one in msia has it yet? Kinda wanna audition before committing in the future.
Even more unrealistic is I wanna audition and compare the difference between 2227 and 8620 icon_question.gif

That's why I'm holding on to my TF10s (and making them as close to my preference as possible). Will have plenty of time to do some research and consider if it's worth the money I'm going to have to dish out. Which 5k++ if I decide to go full CIEM+DAC, which is still a long way off.

Maverick Audio Tubemagic D1. Is it a good start for desktop setup? Only have current ESW9 and might going to get another headphone for desktop setup later.

had anyone tested the Schiit Asgard and the Rudistor NX-03 to drive the Q701?

i'd love to have a clear comparison on both since these 2 are solid state amplifiers.

if we compare the Rudistor NX-03 with the Schiit Lyr it would seems invalid due to solid state vs hybrid amplifier.

so any of you guys own these two care to give some review.

thanks. icon_rolleyes.gif

i'm not sure for the headphone but if sub woofer amp, gain 0, 6, and 12 dB means for the bass
12db has higher bass.

Any recommendations for a good DAC pairing for the Mac Mini. I'm half way there with the Centrance Dacport LX but am wondering if there are better solution than that.

2011 Mac Mini --- ? DAC --- Burson Audio HA-160 - Beyer T1.

Also, what are my options of connecting to these DAC? And which connection is better.

any recommendations much appreciated.
