well the tomans are landed at the back of the pond near the house. My fren hooked all 3 of his using buzzbait when there's a slight drizzle. I caught 1 using skitter pop also during the same time and another 1 during sunset. Another 1 is caught using yozuri mag minnow.

Larger haruans are caught in the middle of the pond while all the curuts are caught at the front near the entrance. We used grub sp and you can hook a haruan on an average of 4-5 casts. I used a texas rig and got very frustrated when i wreck 1 plastic per fish so changed to hard lure. My fren used those weighted hook and his sp lasted longer than mine so he had way more hookup than i do. Another lure that landed me lotsa haruans is the vibration lure as my first 3 hookup is on a rapala rattling rap.

Overall if you just wanna have fun or to get the hang of luring then stay at the front and layan the haruans. Me and my fren is targetting for the tomans so we basically spend the first 2 hours sniffing em out and only proceed to haruan-ing when we got tired at the last and a half hour

Bro Evil Donkey,
Good to know that you guys had fun. Not a bad fishing result for a couple of hours. Imagine if you are in the wild... probably kosong..hahah biggrin.gif

Usually when i rain, i would use lures that is louder and more commotion. That would have attracted them, particularly Toman being such aggresive and territorial fella.

Rattling lures are good for haruan too, cast and let it sink to the base(just like soft plastics) then with little twitches and crank, pause occasionally. That should hit some haruan there. But if you intend to hit Toman in particular, i suggest that you use surface or midwater lure. Let it be catchy and you shall get them.

I did use a variety of minnow at the beginning ranging from abu tomentor to yozuri long cast and the only 1 that manage to get a hookup is the yozuri mag minnow. Given that i'm not left handed, twitching using my left hand really gave me a sore arm and i think i need a lighter reel too LOL

Lady Luck only.

Too many other type of fishes that is willing to take the lure than just Barramundi there. Chances of hitting the snake heads are higher thus your lure dont stand a chance to be presented to the Barramundi. Too bad and it's all on the Lady Luck smile.gif

ehh jom la,.. i dont think MPPJ will kacau unless the forest friends there report. I wanna go boat fishing! weekends nearly booked up,.. this SAt i am free. else June 15th onwards.
Since a lot interested with KD, and we only have 2 boats,.. i think max 6 person on the 2 boats. Some can fish from the shore first then we bring walkie talkies. Those on shore jaga for MBPJ and keep the anglers on the boat inform. How??

After Jurassic,.. can we organise a trip to Gopeng? PB and haruan haven.

Can can,.. but i am not the Kapitan on the boat..if too many ppl then we may need to make rounds on the 2 inflatable raft/boat/sampan.
I think its will be fun fishing there but more fun on the boat.

So Brader Chun and Rory, when you all free to bring your sampan ?

ANyone been to Gopeng for fishing? Google earth shows lot of water pot and holes,.. big ones.
