rofl,.. luckily i wasnt there in Bvld hotel... else i sure syaitan u to buy that reel. Lol

Holy macaroni!! Vanquish online price nearly RM2k for the 4000 model. Hmm magnesium body, like one bro here told me.. only good for freshwater. but impressive specs.
For me,.. i think the highest and most expensive model I will end up will prbably be the Stella or the Daiwa Branzino. I am a sucker for Carbon stuffs.

Yeap. Got time find me yamcha at Safa. I regular there nearly every night with my fishing buddies. Haha. Oh the subang lake u guys go the smaller middle lake Issit? What u guys have tried to lure the pb's?

QUOTE(rorytate @ May 21 2012, 04:26 PM)
I think your friend high stick ler. Meaning that the rod is pointing high up to the sky. All rods should be handled not more than 60degree from ground level when kena fish. Anything more prone to get into trouble.

If you handled properly and the rod patah, it would be different type of patah and you can feel it. Eg, the breaking point is furry with carbons, rather than almost clean cut type.

Fight till patah type, it will not break immediately, it will slowly tear away the rod's holding point that's why bulu bulu. Unless, tiba tiba the fish pull like a truck, then it's a different story. It also depends on the modulus of the rod properties ler.
*
Hmm I think he high rod maybe. It broke like 5-6 secs after his line caught the fish. Strike, pump once, pump again...prackkkk...break. His rod was quite stiff for a 8-15lb. It Broke in between first n second ring.

yup the middle pond, snag friendly. Not so much dead trees and trunks under water.
We usually use sub surface lure 3-7 cm.
My new fav is the Ofmer catwalk, caught 2 back to back with this without changing lures. I used this for top water walking.
PBs in subang lake seems to love yellow/orange minnows.

Just came back from jurassic...had a 4 hour session with a fren.

Caught 3 toman 1 landed 2 off hook just a feet in front of me. Landed , missed and off hooked countless curuts.

Pond is packed with haruans and you can basically see them at the side when you walk around.

Advisable to bring some light tackle to play with the curuts in case the toman is not biting. Me and my fren kinda need to hunt for em tomans today. He hooked and landed 3 toman.

There is a reason why... smile.gif All PB loves yellow, orangy or light green color. It resembles anak toman ma... biggrin.gif

Be it surface, shallow or deep runner, just make sure you get some minnow around 7cm to 15cm in size and you will have higher chance of hitting the PB.

I personally would recommend

These are my preference for the lures i would use for PB, DISCLAIMER: It may not catch you any fish or IT MAY CATCH YOU LOADS OF FISH!!

Either way, Rapala and Storm have been a record breaker all these years for most sport fisherman worldwide. Most world records are set using Rapala, oh well... except for Alaska tho

Hoho. Time to go lure shopping!

Anyway bro rory, the BU pond is fully fenced up with the construction zinc type fencing all around except one side which was walled up. I pass by it every week not knowing there was a pond inside. Roughly 3/4 football size?

The wall up side was Very low only, a kid could climb over. I just pushed myself up abit to have a look. A few larger holes were spotted on the zinc fencing, signs of ppl entering. No signboards or restriction signs, but the way they walled it up as if they didnt want people to tresspass, safely reasons perhaps. But the bushes were very thick indeed, I assume knee high, didn't see any trail or path.

Was quite dark so I couldn't see a lot. Pond looks deep to me n untouched. No floating weeds or stuff. No signs of any distinct water ripples though

Larger pic in my phone but when I upload I think became smaller haha. Wait I try upload the larger one once my laptop gets fixed.

well the tomans are landed at the back of the pond near the house. My fren hooked all 3 of his using buzzbait when there's a slight drizzle. I caught 1 using skitter pop also during the same time and another 1 during sunset. Another 1 is caught using yozuri mag minnow.

Larger haruans are caught in the middle of the pond while all the curuts are caught at the front near the entrance. We used grub sp and you can hook a haruan on an average of 4-5 casts. I used a texas rig and got very frustrated when i wreck 1 plastic per fish so changed to hard lure. My fren used those weighted hook and his sp lasted longer than mine so he had way more hookup than i do. Another lure that landed me lotsa haruans is the vibration lure as my first 3 hookup is on a rapala rattling rap.

Overall if you just wanna have fun or to get the hang of luring then stay at the front and layan the haruans. Me and my fren is targetting for the tomans so we basically spend the first 2 hours sniffing em out and only proceed to haruan-ing when we got tired at the last and a half hour
