I am using Galnet MIUI V4 and I cannot sign into Google Market and GMail apps.

I am using wifi as I do not have any data plan. Do I need data plan to access Market?

What I see is a message "Your phone needs to communicate with Google servers to set up your account. This may take up to 5 minutes"

Then after a while, I get this...

"Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server"

the one i mention 2.3.4 is about stock firmware.. and if u want more better GPS.. u can dload GPS Aids apps from market..

but if u like to use custom rom.. why not..

if iphone we use jailbreak but for android can we jailbreak ?

Jailbreaking an iOS device and rooting an Android device are not exactly the same things, but for layman and non-techie, maybe it's easier to think they are the same.

Android without being rooted already can do many of the things that iOS need to be jailbroken for, if I remember correctly.

Technically, jailbreaking an iOS is rooting. Like you said, many things can already be done in android without rooting compared to a non-jailbroken iOS.

- lag is unavoidable in all samsung rom. CM7 OTOH is lagless
- when you are playing game, lots of rams are being used. so naturally, your phone will lag. RAM is cleared to make way for your game. But if you too many background apps, clearing the RAM might take some time.

I used to. Depends on my mood.

- talkbox might be draining your battery as other forumers here have reported

- I once got that using htc tattoo running eclair. I searched and I found out that it is a bug in eclair. The only workaround was to do a factory reset.
- I suggest make a backup, then format /data, /system, cache, dalvik cache and then reflash miui.

I have checked my Wifi connection and its all good. I can check my gmail via web browser and can surf the web too. Just cannot go to market as it required sign in and sign it always fail. I use my PC to access market and can sign in.

I've faced this before. It's a bad flash. Try reflashing and do a factory reset after that. It should work fine.
