Good news!

Sony called me up today to let me know that the EVF will be in stock in 2 weeks time. He also told me that the body only and 1855 only kit will be available next week!

Actually, the clicking noise is during sudden panning, not at the front and back. Problem seems widespread! I don't really take video, but having a known problem like this does dishearten me.

No price for the EVF yet; probably will announce price a few days before available, like for the double kit set?

This eerie looking pic (what do the words say!!??) , taken handheld iso1600@1/30, crazily clean where the post processing was just to resize.

How much u buy the adapter? Where u bought ?  biggrin.gif
*
Rm 190 for this CoYo brand. From YL photo , Pudu plaza. Today I went again to change the adapter because the contact between lens and adapter was loose. The guy at the shop tried another different Nikon lens and it was still loose. So please avoid this CoYo brand for now, otherwise MUST ask the shop mount a lens on the adapter for you to test the fit. If you happen to get a perfect fit then ok lor.

Want to ask; Does the histogram still work with adapter+3rd party lens?
*

QUOTE(KittyKat @ Sep 13 2011, 04:03 PM)
I see. Means i can still use the EV reading rite? Thanks so much for the info
*
Yes to histogram. Hmm... in M mode, the screen shows 1/15 F-- m.m +0.3 . So I can change the shutter speed, and the m.m automatically moves from -2.0 to 0 to 2.0 depending whether I point the camera to a dark or bright area.

QUOTE(shinchan^^ @ Sep 13 2011, 04:16 PM)
35mm 1.8 on adaptor can control the aperture?
*

Yes, control the actual aperture in the Lens, it's not the Kipon proprietary aperture blades.

Just on the right of the glass, there is lever than can move up and down that controls the aperture blades. The adapter has a simple tiny rod inside that moves this lever.

Was there ever a rule that you can and should only use small lenses with the NEX? It's really up to personal preference. Some people bought it because the body was small, some because it looks bloody stylo, some because it was light, some because it was cheap for what it could provide to the user.

I use my NEX with DSLR glass as well (50/1.8 SAM being the current glued on lens), and I have it with me during commute every single day. Would I do that with a normal sized and weighted DSLR? No, I wouldn't, because my back would be broken already.

A lot of people, I don't know why, are under the impression that it's pointless or wrong to carry a NEX with large lenses. In the first place, almost all E-mount lenses will be huge due to the APS-C sensor, and the physics in designing the lens for such a sensor. M4/3 has very small lenses because of this as well: smaller sensor, hence smaller lenses / pancakes. If you want a jeans / handbag pocketable camera + lens, go for M4/3, else, stick with the NEX.

New people thinking about buying the NEX should do some research before purchasing it, else they will come back and "waa waa waa M4/3 so much smaller"

was tat the reason u bought the nex in the 1st place? so u have a lighter body? does the ergonomic works with small body n huge lens?

e mount lens size, still much smaller than std slr lens
