The Sony Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo HX is actually pretty fast!
http://www.dpreview.com/news/1005/10051303...tickhx30mbs.asp Read 30MB/s, write 15MB/s. A Class 10 SD card promises a write speed of 10MB/s (with the read speeds usually being the x multiplier... but often not too impressively 150x which is 22.5MB/s read only.) And this is sold as the advanced class SD card. By comparison, a consumer CF card is already doing 133x in 2007 like it was nothing. That said, I have gotten a Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-1 SDHC card - this promises 45MB/s read and write which is 300x. Still slow compared to the CF cards. This card is not for my NEX-5 as my MSPD HX will do 5 bursts of 7 FPS just fine, and I don't use it for any more than that. This card is for the A77. |

Well they should have no qualms about making more pancakes now that there is in-camera lens correction.

jimlim007:
LA-EA1 with SSM/SAM lenses get Contrast Detect AF. LA-EA2 with SSM/SAM/screw-drive lenses get Phase Detect AF. |

Could it be that you are shooting in flourescent light? Flourescent light tends to flicker, so making a sweep panorama would catch that flicker in alternate pictures.

24 megapixels means you can crop a lot more!
Imagine bringing a 50mm F1.8 to a concert and cropping out a 750x500 pixel image from the center, for the equivalent of 300mm full-frame! |

mrkudin, there are some slave flashes that are able to intelligently skip the pre-flash.

porkchop: Technically, the Sony 30mm F2.8 DT SAM with LA-EA1 is brighter than the 30mm F3.5 E-mount lens. You lose full-time manual focus though. You will get contrast-detect AF with both combinations, though the LA-EA1 combo will be slower than the E-mount version.

fansoption: That is weird! I'll have to bring my Sigma to a Sony Style to check.
I was initially tempted by the LA-EA2 but then, the only lens I put on my LA-EA1 all the time, is the Opteka 85mm F1.4, which is manual focus, so no point also. This post has been edited by albnok: Oct 22 2011, 10:57 PM |

jimlim007: Weird. I tried my NEX-5 with LA-EA1 with:
- Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG - Sigma 17-35mm F2.8-4.0 EX - Sigma 70-210mm F4.0-5.6 - Tamron 200-400mm F5.6 All of them have proper EXIF inside. Of course no SteadyShot or AF lah. |

0168257061: fansoption's Tamron SP90 is for Alpha mount, which, like the Canon mount, has never had a aperture ring.

General_Nic: The lens that comes with the A350 is the 18-70mm F3.5-5.6 DT.
This will not autofocus with the LA-EA1. The 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 DT SAM, introduced with the A230/A330/A380 onwards, will autofocus on the LA-EA1. |

Oshika: I know how expensive Sony repair can be... so now that Sony sells a Sony Extended Warranty, I always buy it. 1+2 years total.

axii: Got a link?
Also, the SAL75300 doesn't work on the LA-EA1 with autofocus - it is a screw-drive lens. It isn't very fast on a regular SLR/SLT either. |

tpl: The EA2 does support AF for the Sony 75-300mm F4.5-5.6.

tpl: You can try it yourself - the 75-300mm F4.5-5.6 is unstabilized on the LA-EA2, and optically you may prefer the 18-200mm's output. The 75-300mm is a rather weak lens.
