Asked about the availability of the viewfinder on Sony's FB page, here's the reply:

"The FDA-EVS1 will be available sometime next week. Do check with our authorised Sony outlets for more information!"

What is the point of Sony making small cameras then? LOL...go get Sony DSLR if you want those pro big guns zoom zoom lenses  doh.gif
Plus 24-70 focal length is optimized for Full frame not aps-c ...that would be the dumbest move to have such FL lens for SONY NEX  doh.gif  doh.gif
*
24-70 with crop sensor equivalent fov is actually my favourite focal length(36-105),it was my dream lens during my canon 7D ownership period,i don like wide angle,i mostly shot scene portrait and traditional portrait, but thats just me,and i guess sony would make something like 17-55 f2.8 instead, that would be awesome too

anyway,if u know me,i came from DSLR background and i'm the minority who go into mirrorless mainly for the accuracy and recent improvement in speed of CDAF,not entirely because of the reduce size

i don't like big body but don't mind big lens, big body don't necessary attribute to better image quality, but big lens usually do,after all image quality is the biggest reason ppl opting for any large sensor interchangeable lens camera,be it DSLR or m4/3,making a good camera body with great chunky sensor but spoil it with crappy girly pancake apple lens sounds like iphone marketing to me;making it a lifestyle product, not a photography tools

anyway if form is the major factor for you,why not getting a high end prosumer compact,it would be so much smaller, simpler, cheaper, cover even more focal length

NEX is design as compact in mind, hence the small body. And have u put any big lens like ur 24-70 on NEX?
I tried some other lens, smaller than 24-70, and can feel that the NEX is inbalance due to the lens is big and long compare to the NEX small body.

Mirrorless cameras are for people who want an interchangeable body but small in size, so they can pair it with their puny small lenses, not necessarily pancakes, there are many more small lenses that you don't know.
Big chunk of glass doesnt mean good image quality, if you have ever seen those M39 rangefinder lenses, those lenses are puny small, smaller than you think,
but the performance is much better than those big big big big pro zoom lenses wink.gif
