Yes Samsung, new phones. CAN I HAZ 2.3.4 NAO?

@rachy: NO, that's not an installable APK, it's for you to put into the data/apps folder with RootExplorer in read mode.

Here's a list of built in stuff on the SGS2:

http://tinyurl.com/3lwgecv

There's details of what each of them does, make your own decision wanna freeze/uninstall or not.

I find that the malaysia version of the sgs 2 does not include a chinese input function by default. Also no chinese handwriting recognation.

Think must search for it.any ideas?

Ok, for those of you who have trouble installing the Google Maps (for Navigation), i had issues too, but managed to do it through the following:

1. First, make sure your phone is rooted, then download the Google Maps-ownhere.apk (NOT the re-sign one), and transfer to your external SD card.
2. Using Titanium backup on your phone, wipe data and then uninstall both Google Maps and Street View.
3. Then using root explorer on your phone (i used Super Manager, which also has root functions), transfer the Google Maps-ownhere.apk file to your phone's system/app folder (make sure its set to R/W).
4. Then just reset the phone, and voila! Navigation is available!

There is probably an easier/shorter way, but this works for me. Hope it helps smile.gif

sorry i think i still don't get it..

1) if i flash to stock kernel, it fixes the yellow triangle but i lost the CWM boot recovery menu.
2) if i flash to cf root kernel, i can have the CWM boot recovery menu back (but will have yellow triangle too).

is this correct ah?

if correct then i'll use option 2 lor... since the triangle doesn't bother me much anyway happy.gif

if u have flashed the CF-Root kernel u will have the CWM but have yellow triangle
Flashed back stock kernel u will loose the CWM option

I too choose the 2 option too brows.gif

Pardon me for asking, what is sleep mode and how does it work? Is it the same as idle mode when the screen goes off and the screen locks?

Went to Samsung in The Gardens justnow, the guy (look a bit lansi) told me he still got few units, but I intend to buy in July and today is only 30th June, so I didn't buy, hehe. Here's the exchange:

Me: Any free gifts?
He: 1 year extra warranty, so it is 2 years, only here got
Me: Other than that?
He: ... Full set, everything in the box.
Me:.........ok..thank you

Looks like my prediction is partially right...

When Samsung runs out of Super Amoled Screen Plus, they will release a revised Galaxy S2 (give it a different name) with a lower end screen (LCD), lower 720p 5Mp camera and sell it cheaper....but at least got Tegra chip but only1Ghz?

Same for SGS, when they ran out of Super Amoled Screen, they came out with Galaxy SL with LCD screen, 4GB Ram and sell cheaper to meet the demands...

I know some of you guys are hunting high and low for this SGS2...quickly get them.....just in case in the future batches they come with LCD screen!!!

Those with Super Amoled Screen Plus now, hold on to your SGS2 tight tight... smile.gif

Anyway, this is just my 2 cents worth...
