My K5 loan is approved already. Waiting next week to delivery..
White or sliver? Sliver next week can take.
White have to wait AP .. Dunno when sad.gif
Any comment ?
White always looks good only when its new and clean. But for daily use, the silver is the best. Silver has a 2 tone effect. Looks really great at night. The white looks good when its under semi shade. But in the glaring sun and at night, it looks just like plain white.

White is also the most difficult to maintain. Need to always have it clean or else its gonna look bad. Trust me. Ive got friends who drive white cars and they actually regret getting white. They said in the beginning they used to wash often but later found its not practical. So when the washing frequency drops, the white really starts to look crappy.

The silver is the best selling color now. Im sure there's a reason for that. I would advise you to go for silver. Its everlasting and gives the car an executive look.

Although it looks good...But how about the resale value? I saw some owner posting adv at mudah selling their kia 2.0 - 2006 model selling at RM28,888 of which its depreciate around RM20,000 per year. I just wonder If the new Optima K5 value will drop to the same after 5 yrs or 7 yrs loan lol?????

Resale value is dependent on demand. When there is demand, the value will be good. You cannot compare with older generation Kia's. They are totally different. Just look at the Kia Forte. Its enjoying good sales and its resale value is good. It has the best resale value among the Korean cars and its only about 10% lower than rival Jap models.

Also for D segment cars, the difference in resale value is not much different between the various brands after 7 yrs. D segment cars do not hold their value as well as C segment simply because of demand. If you compare a 2003 Camry with a 2003 Sonata, ull see that the difference is only about 15% but u must take into account the higher original selling price of the Camry. So when u do the math, ull see that the final resale value doesnt differ much.

i'm not good in speculate resale value but previous kia & hyundai model mmg outdated... the look & design are not cun at all... even new but not latest model like elantra x20 and i10...
dun talk about old sonata or optima... lagi buruk giler... so if no one interested, the resale will drop...
but if K5 drop 20k per year than is good sign for me to buy a 2nd hand K5 in 2014... thumbup.gif

From my 2 years experience with my forte...I'm confident to continue my ride with this new optima after this...maby about 2 years more.. thumbup.gif

new civic oso going for launching already...called honda to ask abt civic coz sister in law wants it, but they say current model stock no more, waiting for new civic delivery...

a bit sad abt the tail light issue, not the straight continuous strip..dunno why they change it...

wanted to change the rear number plate bulb..but cudnt take out the brown socket...cant see the clip, or izzit turn type..sked will break it...anyone changed it?

Got my bright silver unit yesterday. (My buying & collection process experience, was poor compared to 6yrs ago when I got my vios -so much better. Bottom line is, the SA to the Branch Mgr... They'll sucks.)

Saw my ODO at 65km, I guess it was ok. Drove up to kl last nite and man.... I just love the car. The cruise control very responsive.

I just paid 1k booking fee today and waiting for my load for approval. Once loan approved, hopefully by next tuesday or wednesday, should be getting the car in 2 weeks. Will be taking the white.

These are the things i got from my SA (FOC for me  icon_rolleyes.gif  )
1. CF plate with crystal font ( i hope he knows what I m saying)
2. Choose my own NO. (any No as long as it start with 9***)
3. 7pcs red logo
4. v-kool (any grade I choose as he offer me 50% off)
5. key chain
6. Petrol Full Tank
7. Lucky draw (prize is gps or mountain bike or LCD TV [the lcd tv not comfirm yet] - gurantee to win 1 of these)
8. Lucky draw (main prize for trip to watch EURO 2012 LIVE) - i think this apply to all who buy K5
9. Make sure my new car ODO less then 100km... around 60km is best - this also he promise me..  rclxms.gif
-- Hope I get all these as promised when I take delivery of the car...  blush.gif

He says can get by end of this month. Hopefully all the paperwork work out OK.

I did ask him about the red tail light. He said the full strip could be a 2011 model (they dont have rear aircond as well), the ones we r getting now is the 2012 model.

The K5 does comes with alarm. It is only silent when we armed it and disarmed it... something like the civic.

The smart key fod is not rechargable but use battery which can be replace.

where u got urs from?
the only logical way i can think of is, good SA probably will go to toyota or honda or those AP/recon car seller, coz there, they will get better sales volume and commission, compare to kia or hyundai or lower volume sales company..

tried the alarm, and YES, there is alarm...

anyone checked their car tyre pressure after collection ?
i think it is dangerous that the tyre got pre-pressured to 370kpa for mine..

for V-Kool, i called few shops for V-Kool Elite...Tint Shop subang, V-kool official store at PJ, and Dragon Sound Auto Accessories in Klang...the latter being my previous cars tint installer...both Tint Shop and official store quote rm2800 with 10% loyalty discount. And Dragon offer me RM1800. And i havent got it done yet, planning this coming monday. And additional cost if u wanna add the sunroof tints. 3M, dunno.

alarm.... i lock my wife inside, then move away with the smart key...wife then manually unlock from inside, and it triggers the alarm, horns aloud..not really loud thou

I've just checked mine, 340kpa all round. I lower it immediately.

Looks like our optima community is thriving.

I went to Naza Kia puchong. And for the Sierra glow.. I think bro zrill was saying the price around rm700 for k5.

Hmmm... Maybe I should get silver instead of white if silver really last longer than white.

Bro, yes planned to change the rims at first but after looking from the US forum i feel that changing to 5 spoke rims with 18" doesnt look nice as the rims look small. So maybe when i use up this set of tyres then next round ill change to 19". Furthermore, after looking at it the stock rims looks good and beautiful when its spinning.

As for the hid bulb, im getting it because want to change to white color light. The stock ones are 4300k which is yellowish white.
*
Bro, stock HID bulbs are only 4300K? shakehead.gif

8000K-10000K would look smashing! thumbup.gif

Won't you risk voiding the warranty?
