I was thinking of getting the sportage but the K5 looks so tempting now. I like the sportage design n high seating position ( as for all suv) as I travel frequently to penang. High seating position makes for a more comfortable drive on a long journey. Yes?

But the waiting time for the sportage is really really long. Those that book in last year november also not yet get their car and I do wonder if I were to book the car now.. have to wait how long??

K5 design is nice and very well equip for a car in that price range. No point comparing to more expensive models. Is the waiting period of getting the K5 long? Will be visiting nearest showroom to talk to a SA.

View the car yesterday. Looks very impressive but got no alarm. Did any of u guys install any 3rd party alarm?

I may choose this car over sportage cause the fc of optima is better than sportage. I think.. ,,

I am not sure about the broucher thing.. but the brake lights looks different. The whole red strip of the red light should have lighter up... not a small portion on the boot area only. I am not sure wheather we got the 2011 or 2012 version. The one on your picture is the LED red light something like the DRL in front. We have DRL at the back also.. not sure is it good or not..

Did you put any PPS (Paint Protection System) coating on your car? If got.. where and how much it cost??

Well.. if I do indeed get this car.. hope to spot your car in Penang. I work in sales and I travel to Penang twice a month so basically I need a new and reliable car with long warranty. My old car need to fix often hence I am commited to getting a new ride..

Was thinking of getting the Sportage earlier because of the high seating capability and wide viewing angle afforded by tall vehicle like SUV that leads to some comfortable long distance travel (thats what my friends says after driving his new Tucson). But I think the K5 better fc and more features than sportage makes me lean towards the K5 more.

If some of my observations are wrong.. please enlighten me..

If we dont turn it on.. it looks kinda weird.. like the sportage where the whole part of light attach to the boot area is not light at all unless you mod it yourself.

I would have love if the whole of the red strip on the boot area is lighted + the rear fog light. Hope it could be modded just like the sportage. It would be awesome!

ohh... i really thought they would give more freebies like free tint, smart tag worth rm500, full petrol, etc etc since it is a 140k car.

Maybe I can just ask the SA from Kia puchong something similiar to yours or better since it is nearer to my office. Lets see how it goes....

I think ODO meter below 100km is ok... More than that I think they maybe use your car and drive somewhere..

I just paid 1k booking fee today and waiting for my load for approval. Once loan approved, hopefully by next tuesday or wednesday, should be getting the car in 2 weeks. Will be taking the white.

I did ask him about the red tail light. He said the full strip could be a 2011 model (they dont have rear aircond as well), the ones we r getting now is the 2012 model.

The K5 does comes with alarm. It is only silent when we armed it and disarmed it... something like the civic.

The smart key fod is not rechargable but use battery which can be replace.

I went to Naza Kia puchong. And for the Sierra glow.. I think bro zrill was saying the price around rm700 for k5.

Hmmm... Maybe I should get silver instead of white if silver really last longer than white.

Hope to get news of my loan by tomorrow or Wednesday. After that will get car around 2 weeks time....

I got mine from Naza Kia puchong. His as name is leanard lim. Most of the things he give me is from himself.. Not from Naza Kia. So hopefully when I collect my car.. I got all as promised. Will update u guys when I collect my car and is all things included.

Btw... Did u guys get the sports body kit or the gps system from Naza Kia? Just wondering only....

Ya... My SA told me got body kit and gps system. The body kit cost around 1k++ I think and the gps system around rm3288 with 2 year warranty. It won't void warranty because it's plug n play.. No need cut wire or anything. I'm still considering these 2. Too bad he don't have a gps sample to show me?

Will be seeing my SA tmr, hope to get more details.

Just went to the bank and sign my loan this morning. So many pages to sign... hands also numb..

Should be getting my car in less then 2 weeks..

Choose silver.. no stock then going for white. Dont want to wait... SA told me lots of ppl choose silver.. may not have enough stock for that color.

Will be doing SG and vkool tint after getting the car since my SA says he will subsidise 50% of the vkool for me.

The glove box is just like a normal glove box except it has a hole inside to let in the aircond cold air. Thats how it can cool your drinks inside. It also comes with a switch which you can close or open to let the air in. I was expecting something like a mini fridge inside... but its just a normal glove box with hole inside...

Thats the main reason I buy a new car... Insurance says too old.. cannot cover my car anymore... ... then ask me go gomen insurance pool for super old car like mine...

The 1 with no rear aircond vent is 2011 model. I think they r trying to get rid of old stock.

All 2012 model comes with rear aircond vent.

Looks like I need to ask my SA regarding those problem you guys encounter and hopefully will get a satisfactory answer when I go and collect my car end of this week or early next week but regarding your problem....

1. Extra hot around the car.
Could be due to the setup of the radiator fan. Sounds more like a European setup rather than a Japanese setup. The fan consist of 3 stage. Stage 1, when u start the car, fan is off cause your car engine is cold. Stage 2, the fan is at low speed when your temp reach around 70+ degrees and stage 3, thenfan is atnhigh speed, when your temp is above the middle mark. Faster fan is need to bring your temp back down to around middle. Maybe this time you feel more hot air around the car. Once your engine cools down enough it will return back to low speed.

2. Burn smell.
If you did not open the car door or window I doubt you can smell it inside the car. If you did open door or window then most likely is the tyre smell. If not could be either the wiring or fuse. Try checking your fuse box under the steering. Is the smell there every time you drive or just once only.

3. Uneven cornering
Not sure bout this but is it just 1 times or every times you do a sharp corner. You can test it out a few times.

Once I get my car I will test it it also and since this car comes with 5 years warranty, I m not too worries about it.anything wrong just send it back. Anyway just my guess only. Hope it helps.
