I feel bright silver is better as it is metallic. For white, it is snow pearl white, which is not metallic. Did I get this wrong?

That 2006 optima if sell rm20000 pun i dont want...but if new optima drop price like crazy for 2nd hand value...definitely i will trade in with my forte...but i dont think the new generation kia will drop price like previous generation....
From my 2 years experience with my forte...I'm confident to continue my ride with this new optima after this...maby about 2 years more..

Hmmm. For me i like white the most. Silver is definate no no as it looks very uncle-ish. Its not sporty. Ill never buy any silver car. I have never drooled looking at silver car. As for K5 white looks great with the black contrasting parts.

But everyone has different taste. So buy it according to what u like

for me its ok since more of a solution for people to easily wash the car especially white paint..  cos its easy to wipe off the rain streaks, grayish dirt from white car..
(of course silver car won't really face this problem so my nissan didnt do it)

but i think the more critical fellas prefer premium wax and polish detailing jobs compared to these surface protection solutions for that ultimate shine.. but of course you spend more time and money on those..

but i think choongs service is that if there is minor touch up, like you had a bumper respray, that needs to be done, he will do it for free or charge only minimal charge.

as for the waranty.. I think if can last 2years also ok liao.. so far 1+year so good, can always go back to them to "topup" the surface for minimal fee..

Hope to get news of my loan by tomorrow or Wednesday. After that will get car around 2 weeks time....

passat stock been ever ready...was told by SA during i test drive...K5 just recently received its 2012 stock. Late oso coz worldwide sales has outperform its korean factory output...and US factory just got started to supply US demand, hence we can get it sooner now...had to wait 1 mth for mine, which initially told 3 mths

thats why qty on the road less, but i believe it will grow lar...

Just notice today, if u come near to the car, the inside light will auto on (if u put the light switch at 'door'). Everyday, the car has the power to surprise!

Not sure, but I'll be surprised if Naza/Kia didn't plan to bringing in one judging by how well the Forte was perceived. There should be sufficient interest in the Optima by now, although with Malaysian prices 2.4L is likely to reach RM170+K which is within the realm of 2.4L Corollas, Sonatas, and Accords.

Not a fair comparison by any means, but the top spec Platinum Optima in Australia can be obtained with 40K AUD with some spare change. A bit of haggling you might even get the off-road price of 37K. And Kia just released a lower spec Optima which comes with a full chrome grill instead of the sport grill, 17-inch rims, no sunroof, and non-LED rear lamps which goes for slightly over 30K. That is not exactly a good deal since for 7000 more you get much more goodies, although some may still prefer the lower price and sacrifice the extra toys.

Will Southeast Asia get the lower trim Optima? Probably not, since they can't sell it for 100K since that might cannibalise the 2.0L Forte's sales; I don't see how they will want to sell it for 120K as well.

The Optima's an awesome choice for the D-segment, anyone looking for a ride of this size would be foolish not to at least consider it. Nevertheless, it should be made clear that this car, despite its aggressive looks, is still pretty much a family sedan tuned for comfort, even in 2.4L form as reported by many foreign reviews. The 2.0L turbo has an amazing output yet the car itself is also nowhere close to the Germans, but good enough to outrun most V6s from the Japanese.

I still think satin metal looks the best, kinda like Benz's palladium silver.
Was never a fan of white cars.... until I saw the C63AMG's special diamond-white in real life.... holy shitzzz... looks a bit like creamy white with golden sparkles under the sun... best colour ever.

That's before i took delivery of the car. Actually those two pics were taken separately with roughly one month plus in between, JPJ reg was delayed because of CNY. 
Nope, it's not black. It's called Platinum Graphite, which is basically purpleish dark grey color. I took this color simply because i think the front design elements are better blended together, knight rider style.    However, i think white/silver color butt is sexier as the design ques stand out more.

Before all this, i really really really wanted the blue color.    Curse Naza for not bringing it in. Singapore has it, they have all the colors.

The 1 with no rear aircond vent is 2011 model. I think they r trying to get rid of old stock.

All 2012 model comes with rear aircond vent.

Well, the one in the showroom does have rear vents. And the SA mention the cars they have in hand is 2012 model. So err, unless he's trying to fool me. But still can just call them up to clarify

Just go to the Kia Malaysia webpage. But the moderator there is a weird guy. He wont answer to critisisms but for any comment praising Kia he will respond very fast.

1) on the smell, did smell it once but not too obvious prob still new

2) steering vibrating. Did not have any of that. Prob the tyre pressure to high as when i checked the tyre pressure it was pumped to  44psi from factory. Have reduced it to 36 front n 34 rear. Tyre noise also reduced.

3) hot air, yes it is hotter than other makes.

If u want tahan kotor, then the Silver is the way to go. Dark colors show dirt easily the same with white. If the grey is dirty its very noticeable and the car looks very dull and boring. I saw a dirty PG and thats when i decided against it. Plus any scratches will show very easily on the dark color.

Trust me, i had 2 cars before....1 dark grey and 1 silver. So i know the advantages of the silver.

I am in sales line and I do travel frequently (around 4k to 5k km/month). Thats why I am getting the K5 
My choice are either Kia, Hyundai or VW but the K5 design wins me over.. 

Will update here if I encounter any problem along the way...    Hopefully no major problem arise!!
