hey guys,

do Ducky Shine or Filco have macro buttons like Razer's? Coz i'm pretty used to having macros. Should I get Razer or Ducky? Which is the best?

I do quite a fair bit of gaming too. Mostly used for typing. Backlit preferably

Used to think these mechanical keyboards are overpriced...my friends changed my mind haha. Just like how i used to think Razer mice are too till i used one of them

thanks!

No Ducky Shine or Filco doesn't comes with macro buttons, if you prefer macros, you're stuck with Razer, at least locally.

Gaming/typing or not isn't important, keyboard is just a tool.

Oh, which is the best? Cherry black or Brown or others? I read through the first page and i think Black and Brown are decent for me. Also, I see that most enthusiasts are quite hyped up about modding the keycaps...etc. Are they necessary? Do enlighten me

There isn't such thing as "best" in this world, everything has its pros and cons, if you like something soft, with tactile bump to actually feel you pressed on something, require lesser force to press, brown would be your choice.

As for black, if your finger has muscle, why not go for it? It requires high force for the button to actuate, with no bump and no clicky.

Btw, anyone ordered stuffs from www.wasdkeyboards.com before? They are using 3 types of courier ranging from $7.77, $23.59, $28.90 (all in US dollars), wanted to know which one you guys picked. :S

Modding the keycaps is just a personal thing, obviously it's not necessary. It's a personal thing. I mean, if you're the type that likes to look at your keyboard and think to yourself "Damn, dat keyboard so pretteh" (I'm one of them) and you have some extra cash to spare, why not? And also, welcome to the dark side! Where we have cookies and like to stare at photos of keyboards happy.gif

Keycaps served more as a collection, so they are not necessary. Keycaps have their own advantages depends on how you look at it, some collects them as collection, while some purchase them to install on their keyboards.

Doubleshot printing keycaps, the printing on keycaps last forever unless you destroy the keycap, some people do have some eyesore when they look at their used up keycap where you can see the printing fade, vanish. which causing eyesore to certain user.

But having spare is always welcome!, but i know wallet bleeding in this. (||| '3')

Eh? I'm actually interested with BW keycaps. Oh btw Ducky Shine users, do you guys have any issue with Escape key being misaligned? Aside from that, my F12 key has softer backlight too. O.o

- more expensive durable in terms of built quality, lol
- able to customize the keyboard with different variety of key caps
- heavier ( 1.2 kg or more )
- poisonous, u'll go for more after having 1
- if a key malfunctioned, just change it with a new switch. rubber dome = throw away
- most mechanical keyboards has NKRO under PS/2 which allow u to press as many key as u want

Nice. What keyboard will u recommend if i have a budget like 200-300 ? Trying not to stretch more than 300. The keyboard is mainly for gaming and typing, good durability and illuminated if can , i saw a lot of mech keyboard that looks exactly like the normal keyboard lol.

SS6Gv2 is non illuminated, plus if you want that, just go for leopold, cheaper than SS6Gv2, similar or better quality

Also, the SS6Gv2 is known for having problems with the keycaps, they tend to fade away after relatively short periods of usage.

Definitely Leopold > SS6Gv2
