It's going to be a very long list if were to list them out, but i will just tell you the games that makes a huge improvement in my gaming experience.

O2Jam, multi tapping on notes coming at a same time, it make it easier to tap since you don't really have to use full amount on your finger, so it saves you a lot energy.

Starcraft 2, same goes to above statement, selecting group requires you to tap once, but go to where your group are requires 2 tap, same thing, i don't have to really press it hard.

As for FIFA, couldn't think of anything that would help you in gaming, but typing on mechanical keyboard is like wonders when you got used to it, its very fun when you don't really have to bottom out the key and the word will still comes out, it somehow improves my word typing speed.

I'm still yet to take picture of my keyboard that are scratches when i block attack from the robber, but the scratches seems to be minimized, no idea why :S

I'm just wondering, since I'm a bit outdated on today's motherboards, do they still come with PS/2 female ports?

well, my Leopold is not for gaming purposes tongue.gif
i uses other mechanical keyboards (PLU,PLUM,Steelseries often) for gaming.

For music games like LR2 (bms simulation), O2jam, Synth'N(DJMAX simulation), the NKRO gives me an advantages of pressing >7 keys simultaneously without any ghosting interruption.
black switch is somewhat stiffer and it helps me in rapid tapping a lot.

For FPS games like MOH,COD which i usually played, black switch helps giving me a smoother moving action, better melee or special grenades as black switch is a linear switch ( no bumps when pressing ).

just my preference for linear switches, everyone has their own preferred type of switch, so it is better if you can try them out before rewarding your fingers with a mechanical keyboard.

I'm using Gigabyte P67A-UD3P, counted as latest motherboard, and yes it still comes with a PS/2 slot which you're able to plug in either mouse or keyboard only.

Ah thanks a lot biggrin.gif

I've always thought that PS/2 would be obsolete already when USB has become so popular laugh.gif

It could be, so it's better you get something that NKRO works under USB.

PS2 cannot go obsolete for simple security reasons.
no USB port, means no data can be easily stolen.

Leopold will be your best option. High quality and have 18KRO over USB.

Even though others have mention, brands such as Filco, Leopold, Rosewill and Ducky weren't design with gaming in mind but they sure do the job very well.
Mechanical keyboard will out-perform and out-last all rubberdome gaming keyboard period.

I'm wondering what is the actual "best" mechanical gaming keyboard in terms of performance, currently available? Searching in Google and asking around in other forums turn up that Filco boards, despite apparently being designed for office use, is actually the best option for enthusiasts.

Is this really true, even beating companies dedicated to gaming peripherals such as Razer's Blackwidow and Steelseries' Z-Board? If so, I'm going to look for one just to test it out.

Judging a keyboard by its performance is the wrong way of putting it. I'm not sure which perfectly working keyboard would show a key on the screen slower than any other perfectly working keyboard
As to gaming peripherals company, they work based on branding/marketing, not on how good they really are. I'm not saying they are not good, but there are better options out there

To select a keyboard, you would need to consider, among other things, the key feel, and the build quality. In terms of key feel, the types of switches dictates the key feel, most of the time. As to build quality, FILCO, is very good in this, that's why you keep getting hits about it being recommended. The upcoming CM Storm Rapid are build by the same OEM, so the build quality is as good/comparable.

Just gotten my Realforce keyboard.

Much quieter than my Filco brown.

Feels like a linear keyboard, the bumps are not as noticeable as Filco brown.

Only the backspace and enter keys are noticeable.

The rest are like membrane keyboard.

Almost silent.

My Topre Realforce keyboard arrived yesterday.

Here are some photos of it:

So far, I am very happy with the feel of the keyboard.

Feels like a cross between membrane and cherry brown switches. I can feel the tactile feedback. However, the tactile feedback is much smoother compared to cherry brown switches.

I might replace my office's Filco Brown with this.
