err.. do your poodle wear dog collor with a small bell? i bought 1 for my poodle, but he refuse to wear, so uneasy..

reason being is he like to stick around my leg, sometime turn around will kick him accidentally.. zz
especially dangerous when we are holding some hot water.. i thought with the bell at least i will know he is very near me..

any solution on how to train him to wear the collar?

You just bought your puppy back and honestly you cant expect much that he will understand whatever you want in just few days time. Not only your puppy but mine and I believe that almost all poodle owner here experienced the same thing when they brought back their puppy last time. He like to stick to you means he's now comfortable with you and accept that you're his owner now, because in this new environment, you are the only one that he trust thus he kept on following you. My girl did the same when she was a puppy and I too kick her many times because of that. If you're concern that you might stepped over him, I suggest to set some limit for ur puppy where he should or shouldn't go. For example, if you need to get hot water or anything dangerous and scare it might accidently fall into ur puppy when you're walking, then you could put him into his pen while you're busy n let him go when it is safe for him to roam.

Training puppy to wear collar is not hard. You just need more patient to make him understand, the collar is for his own good and not gonna hurt him. By praising him while putting the collar will eventually teach him that the collar bring praises from you to him smile.gif

no worry to much on the collar.. just put it on him and max he will b uneasy for 1 day and he will eventually get used to it.. i did the same to my poodle.. when i first put it on her, she was struggling to take it out and later she give up as there is no way for her to take it out herself. but remember to wash ur collar at least once a week or else they will get skin infection on that area..

another thing is, the collar wont affect the grow of the fur right? as long as i don't tighten the collar so hard?

Oopps I already ordered the cake 1 week back, with Popcorn's and Miki's figuring from Pawz bakery. It's quite a big one, should be enough for all.

Yup already did. Hmm, last year we had it opposite the fair booths, shaded area with tree, kinda hard to explain where. I PM you my number? If you can't find just give me a call.

Refuse to wear as in? He will bite the collar? Just let the collar on, not too tight, at first they may not get used to it by biting the bell or so, but after a while they will be ok with it. Its easier if there's a bell because he may be very tiny now and sometimes u don't know where he went.

The collar won't affect fur growth, I've been wearing on her for nearly 2 years, of course common sense not too tight.

Hmm, you may want to get some books to read on all these? It was my first time having a dog 2 years ago as well, it helped me very much from reading knowing what to expect, what to do, toilet train etc

Seems like suzannetan are having a barkday for her beloved furkids, may I know where you will be throwing the party? Though I wouldn't be bringing my poodle over, she is just 4months + now, but my shih tzu is alright to join if the venue is near Doggie Pet Fun Fair, as I will be going there with my Shih Tzu wub.gif

I'm new to having a dog, and new to this forum. Your blacklisted poodle breeder info still stand. If only i'd checked this site earlier, would hv warned my wife not to buy from that shop at Connaught, Cheras. Just brought my puppy to Segar Vet this morning. Poor puppy was vomitting blood and had lost so much weight. Need to stay there for a few days. Just as what was reported by the other victim in the forum, it was Parvovirus. The vet said 50/50 he'll survive. Bleeds my heart seeing him at such condition. He is only 3 months old and is definitely too young to die... and not this way...

Why are there still such irresponsible breeders around...

We will be at central park at 10:00 am but I won't be able to tell u the exact location depends on where's dry and less sunny, we'll just picnic there. Your shitzhu finished all the jabs? If yes, after 1 week you can bring him/her out. If not better to stay at home first.

It's always good to do some research before deciding. They're always around, always even years ago until then. I hope your poodle will be able to go through this and recover soon.
