If anybody is interested, I'm pretty happy with my contractor Mr Sin.

We needed to completely gut out condo - remove all floor tiles, all fittings & all built-in furniture, install all new water pipes & plumbing, extend kitchen by removing dry area wall, retile the kitchen walls & floor, build concrete & tile kitchen counter + bar counter, completely retile both bathroom walls & floors, install new bathroom fittings, convert shower area into a laundry room, retile the master bedroom, living, dining & hallway with 2x2 tiles, retile the balcony, refurbish the sliding door (new glass & rollers), change 3 windows to casement type, waterproof the outer wall & repaint the entire condo.

The cost came up to about RM40k (other companies were quoting RM60k-70k). And he completed everything in 6 weeks.

He shows up every day with his workers and works alongside them. He says he prefers to do small-medium jobs.

I hv renovated 4 times in the past, this has been the most pleasant experience yet.

Hi all,

i just bought a double storey house (22 x 70) at PJ area at uptown and is quite old.

extended kitchen and balcony already done from the existing owner but i will change everything in the house including tiles, stairs case, ceiling, bathroom, living room, painting, kitchen cabinet, electrical works and etc. any idea how much does it costs? i don really need a luxury renovation but slightly above average i am looking for.

if someone can advise me with breakdown would be better. smile.gif like living room RM 30k, kitchen 20k and etc. don know is that make sense.
assuming excluding furniture e.g. air-cond, sofa, dining table and bed

If that's the criteria for a MD or CEO then it must be a RM2 company.

Anyway, I found a reno contractor that fulfils about 95% of that criteria. So all good now.

I asked for discount instead, didn't go through the late delivery charges calculation

The initiation stage of engagement was good, prompt and he did his due diligent as a professional vendor in recommendation.

When it comes to delivery, things are late. We are talking about weeks of delayed, not days.

His contact info. Decent guy, decent quotation... been honest with me all throughout the reno process. Basically I was happy to just get a guy who doesn't disappear after taking the first 10%, leaving the work to a bunch of clueless Indons who do work only 2-3 days a week.

Tell him the Athenaeum guy in Bukit Antarabangsa recommended him to you on LYN.

Hi guys, I had just completed my house renovation and due to my limited budgets, I had liaised with several contractors for different works such as cement/concrete, electric, grill, alarm. Luckily I met some very kind and sincere people so if you guys need any not too bad and reasonable price contractors contact, just let me know and I willing to share with you all.

Hello contractors of lowyat forum, may I know how much u charge for making this type of sliding door (refer pic)?
Like most houses, living room is linked to the kitchen via a big entry way, which is about 8 feet wide and 10 feet high. i want to have a sliding door so that i can close it when cooking. Preferably 3 pieces of sliding door (so the opening space is bigger).
