If its real solid wood and not plywood with decorative skin then price must be damm high.
Most of the solid wooden doors are made up of smaller pieces of wood block attached together.
That is where you get the panels design.
If you say your design is same as my white plywood door but real solid wood, the wood block must be 1 piece full door size or near to it. Damm premium lor...  blink.gif

Hmm not sure but the door is damn so heavy, need 3 ppl angkat, i look from the side, it looks like solid wood....not sure its one piece full door or not. But my main door is whole piece of wood not using wood block...i think sarawak here the wood cheaper eh? blush.gif whole big piece of merbau only RM1000

Only ah? Haha you must be quite rich if you think rm1000 for a wood door is cheap. Considering the price, it must be custom made. What is the width measurement for your door?

Cheaper? Haha.. believe it or not, all the doors in sarawak are imported from west malaysia. thanks to your CMS, sarawak forest is botak already due to excessive clearfelling.

There are such big tree, but for me, I'll prefer not to kill such old tree. Home is important, but mother nature is also need to be taken care.

BTW, fresh cut wood, need to season, and not all can use for door. Single pieces will wrap very easy.

Phoenix, i notice u extend ur original living room to a straight line. May i know if u move or replace the original TNB power lines that run pass ur house? i m planning to extend whole of my living room 2 feet to a straight line too, but i was advise by my contractor that i cant hide the original power lines in my house. i will have to get TNB to re-lay new power lines along the new walls and it is going to cost me 2-3k !!!!!

any idea how to implement this extension without denting my poor wallet another 3k ? icon_question.gif

Thanks thanks!!!!

Depend on area, like Subang, I have to go through TNB officer to arrange the recabling. Some area they just give you the certified contractor and you go call them. My relocation is about 1.1k

Go TNB for your area and check. You can even relocate TNB pillar, or light post

Renovation Updates:-

Louvre Doors installation:-

Part 3 - Louvre Door (Doors with vent Panels)
Suitable for enclosed rooms without any windows. e.g. store rooms
This door needs to be installed to open on the other side as my door frame was installed to open in when I needed it to open out.

Installing the hinges on the door first

Only then attaching the hinge on the frame .

Not really big. It only slightly wider than the 600 x 600 floor tiles from the picture - 675 I reckon.

I extend follow the most front wall line, not sure if it makes any different in price but TNB original wire must remain their original one, must be visible from outside.

Learning about Water

Went around searching for water purifiers. Need to install this to my house water system as water in washing machine turns my clothes yellow sad.gif
So I combed through some of the thread in this forum and went around asking some suppliers.
So this is my findings

there is 2 main types water purifiers, POU and POE

POE (Point Of Entry)
Outdoor Water Purifier - Sand, Membrane and Ceramic type.

Often mentioned brands in Lowyat Forum:-
Bacfree - British Technology (long history), one of the very first water filter supplier in malaysia, most expensive sand filter in malaysia that I've come across so far.
GE - NSF Cert - The most expensive fiber casing sand filter i've encountered so far
3M - Has NSF elements but not NSF cert (as far as I know)
Perfect Steel - Popularised by forum member zheilwane. Has NSF stickers on some of their product range but what that entails.. I dunno

POU (Point of Use)
Indoor Water Purifier - located in kitchen for drinking water purpose.
many types of water system, energy, Reverse osmosis, alkaline etc etc etc.. rclxub.gif

Often mentioned in Lowyat forum:-
Amway - NSF Certified
Coway - a brand often mentioned by coway's mlm members here. ... Here is something i discovered - NSF Certified range of product not avalaible in malaysia at the moment except maybe one model that does not appear on their malaysian website and sold through retail. brows.gif betcha they dunno that.
3M - NSF Certified
Tupperware - NSF Certified
Bacfree - Ceramic filter only but they claims that all the SIRIM lab uses their filter an so far no bacteria found.

All the above uses 3 main technology

Reverse Osmosis, Membrane and Ceramic.

NSF International, formerly known as the National Sanitation Foundation, a non-profit organization which provides research and education in the field of public health and safety
For the standard of purified water NSF seems to be the oft referred to standard.

Googled around and found this 2 useful website

1. basic information about water filter icon_idea.gif
http://www.about-water-filters.com/index.html

and a breif summarization on what NSF is nod.gif
http://www.about-water-filters.com/nsf-certification.html

2. NSF listing , a search database by NSF of all the "tested and certified" product.
If its ain't here its bogus tongue.gif
http://www.nsf.org/certified/dwtu/

NSF certified products seems to carry a lot of weight and has to meet strict standards, if not they can lose the cert then shame lor....
NSF logo is used by many companies but read the fine print ... "follow/exceed/adhere to NSF standard"... talk only, must get "NSF xx Certified"
NSF certified product - Damm expensive except for 1 brand which the supplier discontinued doh.gif

Btw, I am going for a non NSF certified products tongue.gif
