Hi guys. I just bought a saga fl. But I notice a weird thing about the feul meter, don't know u guys hv the same problem with mine or not? Seems like the feul meter is not stable like that. Sometimes when it reach level 3 and u drive drive it wil become level 2 again. Do u guys encounter this?
*
That is normal. My Gen2 also the same. nod.gif U see, when u go uphill or downhill, the petrol level that touches the sensor will varies due to gravity. biggrin.gif

Yeah, Campro was design to be easily retro-fitted with other modules. Now the availability of the CVT is a proof of it. There are already plans to retro fit a electric engine to make it hybrid, and apparently the Gen-2 will get it first as the testing is currently done on that car.

Campro is a good development by Proton, barring the initial hiccups with the torque dip problem, the engine's not bad at all.

However, Proton must not be complacent and need to come up with higher displacement for this engine though. I'm sure Gen 2 and Persona owners wont be happy if they are stuck with 1.6 engine .

your car is still new..dn't expect good FC directly
this is the weird thing abt saga as well
u need to do 3 service ...1k, 5k and 10k KM be4 good FC will come

Added on July 23, 2011, 9:58 pm
yes....CVT have lower RPM if u cruise highway...
we dn't know saga CVT yet but inspira's CVT 120KM/H is 2K RPM only
so if that happens to saga....6L/100KM is possible
mine whole tank 30L can get approx 440KM
a few members here already hit the 400KM mark with full tank
*
Inspira 2.0cc CVT is 2.2 - 2.3k RPM @ 120 km/h. But i don't think Campro 1.6 can do the same, it also depends on the power of the engine, not just the CVT alone can reduce RPM. I think Inspira 1.8cc CVT has higher RPM at same speed.

Anyway, IMO, FC wise, all cars running on highway has decent FC, (if you drive normally 100km - 120km/h). It is only in city drive where it sucks fuel. Like me 100% city drive...what CVT also all useless... tongue.gif

Is it? But my wife's viva do not have this problem.
But is it quite hard to see when is the last level and you have to pump petrol? Cos when you drive until it reach the last level, then suddenly it up one level again.

yup...very true..honda city's idsi 2k rpm can only reach 80-90km/h

as for altis' dual vvti cvt, 2k can reach 110km/h, although the ratio is higher than the cvt of the inspira.

the altis' engine has more low end torque, hence the lower rpm needed to reach 110km/h while the 4b11 shines at higher engine speed.

for the 2.0 inspira 110km/h is at 2.1k rpm

it depends on how many gear u have actually
the CVT have 6 spd if not wrong...
saga in other hand only have 4 spd....which explains the high RPM and bad FC
vios have 5 spd...that explains their good FC
so any mod to increase the number of gear actually will improve everything
like a 5 spd GB would already be enough

I think VIOS has good power delivery in low end torque compared to CAMPRO, not so much because of 5 gears. That is why city drive it'll definitely beat SAGA in FC for city drive. Having a 5 speed for SAGA will give a better FC in the highway probably, but do nuts for city drive...which can barely reach 4th gear before the next traffic light.

Number of gears or speed step(CVT) have no bearings for city drive FC. I bet some old P2 autos with 3 gears autobox like Kenari probably have better FC than a SAGA, due to smaller engine and lighter chassis.

vios only has 4 gears for AT la........

1st: 2.847, 2nd: 1.552, 3rd: 1.000, 4th: 0.700, Reverse: 2.343

saga blm
1stRatio : 2.842, 2ndRatio : 1.529, 3rdRatio : 1, 4thRatio : 0.712

the main reason why the FC is high is due to the ratios and the torque on the blm.

kenari AT also i have tried before, full tank rm 55 (ron 95 @ 1.9) gives about 300km? 320? mixed highway @ 110 and town driving.
