Test drive the 1.3 CVT Saga FLX just now. Don't worry the auto gear stick is exactly the same as the 1.3 FL, not the toy looking one. Anyway we couldn't really go for as its the display unit as well, my first impression is that the steering feels heavier, espec at stationary/startup. Once the speed and rev's picks up, its ok. Definitely feels heavier compared to FL/BLM.
But still worth the price just for the ABS. This post has been edited by SnoWFisH: Jul 23 2011, 11:50 AM |

well, im the first test driver for this car, so i wonder is it because the car has not break in yet. Maybe the car too new so the parts not very well "marinated" haha...
The steering is not as light as the Iswara and the Inspira as a reference for those who havent own a Saga. Still manageable la, I think women drivers can still manage it. Its heavy because of the feedback I think. Dunno how to explain hahaha |

I feel thats its heavy not because the resistance or what, its more like its due to the feedback to auto center the steering wheel. Maybe the car still too new, belum marinate cukup cukup . 1 hand wheel driving is still OK. Its heavy only when idle, or u trying to move fwd from stationary. Other than that, feels exactly like any other FL.
I couldntt really test the CVT, as its a display unit. Cannot stress it too much Anyway seems like all 2001 onwards proton cars fixed that roof glue rusting problem liao. Can get it without any worries already. This post has been edited by SnoWFisH: Jul 23 2011, 12:11 PM |

Saga's CVT will be able to provide that low rpm torque that's missing. Yeap acceleration is definitely better than the normal one, but don't expect any major performance boost. Ur FC should be better.
I have no idea which company manufacturer saga's CVT though. Heard is punch motor one |

Yeah, Campro was design to be easily retro-fitted with other modules. Now the availability of the CVT is a proof of it. There are already plans to retro fit a electric engine to make it hybrid, and apparently the Gen-2 will get it first as the testing is currently done on that car.
Campro is a good development by Proton, barring the initial hiccups with the torque dip problem, the engine's not bad at all. However, Proton must not be complacent and need to come up with higher displacement for this engine though. I'm sure Gen 2 and Persona owners wont be happy if they are stuck with 1.6 engine . |
