QUOTE(blackdollie @ Jun 14 2011, 11:17 PM) Since Filesharing site & P2P is blocked or throttled ,what's the point people still getting UniFi?? I am just wondering if the filesharing sites are also being blocked by other wired ISP. To be frank this totally defeats they point of getting UNIFI.

QUOTE(MGM @ Jun 15 2011, 09:59 AM) I was told that when there is a black out, the phone connected to the Unifi's BTU will go dead too. Is that correct? Can I use a UPS to backup the BTU to solve this problem? yes you can, you must power up the BTU and the phone together.

im still waiting for them to rectify my issue...disconnect every 2-3 minutes since 2 days ago..i called them last night..but the guy who picked up when i mention to him i got disconnected every 2-3 minute he said..your line is active for more than 10 minute..i was..wtf..i knew it was up for like 10 minutes because i restarted my router 10minutes before..even though the line is cut off, the router still showing green light..after a few minutes then it will turn orange but that never happen because the dsl will connect within 30 seconds....to cut things..i told him every 2-3 minutes the dsl light and voip light at the vdsl turned off..and my iptv and internet cannot be used la. and when i told them my credit was about to empty then the guy asked me why i dint use the fix line..i was wtf..how can i use it since my line got disconnected every 2-3 minutes? when i was wathing iptv it stops, displaying the satellite button with x means no connection..then it resumes back after the vdsl connected again..

Im also get disconnect once during midnight a few days ago. Totally no internet. Then next morning it works again.
Also, during night times my speed can drop to 2mb only. Its really crap. I wonder is it unifi can't handle the traffic or my connection something wrong...

i've been having slow speeds for about 2.5 weeks now. speeds were previously between 500-600kbps. but since 2.5 weeks ago, its now not more than 20kbps.
no disconnections, just freaking slow speeds. but only for intl traffic.
unifi guys came today to my house, changed my router, said mine is old version. check check check, speedtest is ok. i said dont look at speedtest, look at my dload speeds.
so i forced them to dload using their laptop, and they finally agreed. so now they said, the 'flying squad' or some bullshit team has to come and fix the network. lol.
what fun. i'm going to call their customer service and complain. and ask for rebate, because their tech team also came and saw the problem. i wonder if they will give.
bloody bs.

I follow the settings on unifi.athena.my to change my DIR-615 to a switch. Doesn't work. I configure my computer to do all the vlan switching and PPPoE connection similar to the site. Working, I pay for 20Mbps I get 25+Mbps. LOL. Anyone who wants to do this on Ubuntu pls PM me and I do my best to explain. Setting up server lol. QUOTE(fx_53_xt @ Jun 14 2011, 05:03 PM) Home plug is something you can plug to power outlet, and it can use the power point in your house to transmit data. That way, you can connect two device anywhere as long as they are within the reach of a power point (those power point need to be a closed loop of course). They dont need to hide the fiber, just that they need to punch a small hole in your wall to pull the fiber into your house, so you can use them. I like your spirit. The you tak suka you keluar spirit. exactly the spirit Malaysians need right now to continue our journey down the drain. Ya lor... if you don't like something. You can comment or argue in proper path. .... talking crap at here, is worthless:)

Is it just a burst 25+Mbps at early of downloading or steady 25+Mbps for the whole download? Could you mind to share us your sort of 25+Mbps speed, with Bandwidth Monitor? I do get up to 25Mbps. But it was just a spike connection on my Bandwidth Monitor, Jumping from 16Mbps-25Mbps. So make it average, it was just 20Mbps. This post has been edited by Acrisius: Jun 15 2011, 07:49 PM

do you all know why... alot of unifi users have weird funny anomalies online..
its cause they are testing n deploying their DPI, might cause some problems...

QUOTE(dimenxion @ Jun 14 2011, 11:04 AM) i did this bandwidth allocation at my home and what i can tell it works flawlessly. i am using the tplink wr841nd and setup the bandwidth allocation to certain computers to only allow certain amount of bandwidth it can consume. like myself, i am using 10Mbps. so what i did i setup my server and my laptop to have full 10Mbps while the rest of the computers only can use 5Mbps. in case you wondering, yeah i did test on all the PC's that i limit the bandwidth and all shows maximum 5Mbps transfer rate while i am getting full speed. i never have slow speed issue since then although my bro's pc keep utilizing the 5Mbps can stock dir 615 have bandwidth allocation ? what to do if got some user which is heavy download ??

QUOTE(stanleychew @ Jun 15 2011, 08:57 PM) Deep Packet Inspection....our worst nightmare Wikipedia QUOTE Deep Packet Inspection (and filtering) enables advanced network management, user service, and security functions as well as internet data mining, eavesdropping, and censorship. Although DPI technology has been used for Internet management for many years, some advocates of net neutrality fear that the technology can be used anticompetitively or to reduce the openness of the Internet.
