I want to apply Unifi but i think my area still not covered yet.

Weird TM. Most of the residential surrounding my area already have except my housing area.
*
if ur street not covered, go to their website and register your interest. that's what i did before. and i got the service around a month. it tooks 2-3 weeks for the cable deployment. and lucky me i got the installation after 3 days.

but that's depend whether your area is like me, or an area with lots of unifi demand. certainly my area doesnt have much unifi users smile.gif

I'm not sure can or not... shld be can, just another cable to your room.  Try call TM contact centre.

Another way is your friend using vip5, why not top up your portion to upgrade vip5 to vip10 or 20.  simpler.
*
yeah... get vip10. then do bandwidth allocation. 5Mbps each

With bandwith allocation yang bang Dimenxion said, and RM99.5 each for VIP10, WIN-WIN.  I agree.

If like that, neighbour who wants to share with me...i might go with it !! :>
*
i did this bandwidth allocation at my home and what i can tell it works flawlessly. i am using the tplink wr841nd and setup the bandwidth allocation to certain computers to only allow certain amount of bandwidth it can consume. like myself, i am using 10Mbps. so what i did i setup my server and my laptop to have full 10Mbps while the rest of the computers only can use 5Mbps. in case you wondering, yeah i did test on all the PC's that i limit the bandwidth and all shows maximum 5Mbps transfer rate while i am getting full speed. i never have slow speed issue since then although my bro's pc keep utilizing the 5Mbps

qos? nowadays can qos work on wireless? my old modem only can qos wired.
*
nah.. not qos. i'll go for high end router if i want to use qos. this bandwidth allocation is already built in into WR841ND. what i can say, this tplink model have more valuable add on compare to stock DIR-615. biggrin.gif

i'll do screenies later on when i'm at home. these features is one of the features that i love rclxms.gif

I was told that when there is a black out, the phone connected to the Unifi's BTU will go dead too. Is that correct? Can I use a UPS to backup the BTU to solve this problem?
*
yes you can, you must power up the BTU and the phone together.

if DIR615 said it correctly, PAP authentication failed is related to username and password. most probably you have hanged session and the radius server think you are trying to do duplicate session.

Anybody can confirm what's is the capping speed for each unifi package..

Mine never reach 5Mbps, Only 4.7.. Make me think their capping the speed 5,000,000 bits and not 5242880. It's about 200Kbps different..
*
yup i agreed with you. i believed the way they shape it is 5,000,000 not the actual 5,242,880. anyway for ethernet service (at least SG and AU), it's shaped is that way.

its not about capping. even if they capped you at 5mbps flat, you wont get 5mbps due to overhead in networking.

this is true smile.gif
