QUOTE(lukchardhsl @ Jun 18 2011, 09:04 AM) The problem with our country is our government. We are actually in recession and out inflation rate is high and is steadily increasing. It pisses me off so badly that the government is lying to us that our country's economy is good. Yet, with all these circumstances they are still being corrupt and eating money left and right without doing anything about it. I'm sorry, but I can't seem to digest your rationalization on piracy. I believe that the entertainment we enjoy should be based on what we can afford. If you can't afford high speed internet, Astro, Original CDs, ect, then don't buy them. It's not yours to enjoy. Your post above make it seems like entertainment is a must and if you can't afford them, then steal them.Isn't the government about the people and not the administrators? Didn't Abraham Lincoln said the government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from Earth? Moreover, they government don't seem to bother finding out why people download. People download because its free. Why do Malaysians like free stuffs? Because our economy bad la. No money to makan, pay rent, harga petrol naik, milk powder and harga electricity also naik. The price of things are steadily rising while the people's salary are still the same. People are already finding a hard time earning money. Do you think Malaysians would pay for entertainment when they can get it for free given the circumstances? The government should consider this before they do stupid decisions like this and everyday minum duit kopi. It's really disgusting to see that these are the people ruling our country. I'm not supporting the government's move in blocking FS sites, but I do still think that piracy should be avoided. The only reason that I could think of that can justify piracy is because we couldn't buy originals even if we wanted to. Somebody please tell me where can I download music, movies, TV shows LEGALLY. I would gladly buy originals if there are actual websites that sells them. |

So you just listen to some crack head complain and you simple implement something that doesn't have any legal basis? Full of sh*t, bro.d govt act base on d report only... go blame to the artist for this...and read more newspaper ya? Don't be a government apologist. They are responsible for every action that they take, it is their responsibility to ensure that they are taking the right move, not just blindly do something. If they are that dumb, then they shouldn't be in charge of our country. |

Your post above make it seems like entertainment is a must and if you can't afford them, then steal them. This is what is happening and there are quite a few valid and invalid reasons behind it no matter how mature your thinking is. Humans are stubborn and the majority of us will find the easy way out. Even your practical take on this matter will be hard to implement because it is not as easy as it sounds. |

The government to control tv, radio, newspaper.. now they want to control the internet. Come on people dont be such fags and fight for your rights as netizens. If people dont support freedom on the internet then it will be just another controlled media.. internet is the last frontier for to get free unbiased information from many different sources. You cant stop piracy on the net. The entertainment business have not adapt to the internet revolution.. it screwing them and they opt for the easy solution. Why find an affordable solution when you can just ask your "friends" to do the dirty work for them. Just block these sites.. F&*K those teenagers or young people who cant buy original Lady Gaga album that cost RM40. You're too poor to listen to music. Ohh wait..Who are the biggest fanbase for these artist???? who?? is it old people that have big salary?? no?? its those young generations that actually supported these artists. Its the students, the 20 something year olds. Ohh yes we can charge RM40 for an album because we can! Who cares when the cost of producing a CD and cover is RM5.. who cares about the economy or the laymen on the streets we are "artists" and we are suppose to be rich! The whole point of the internet is to provide content rich access for everybody. Why dont they use the internet to cut cost and charge on content basis. Look how iTunes are doing it. CD Audio is being replace and is getting more obsolete. Those people who cry foulplay and run to their BN "uncles" to block these sites should grow up and think of ways to use the internet instead of blocking it. These industries who fight against freedom on the net are just digging their own graves. |

Sometimes i think that some are taking advantage of this issue and blaming the government rather than looking deeper into the issue and finding out why. I guess it's normal human nature to complain and blame rather than to investigate.

I do believe that government's true motive is not about piracy, but just want to put the taxes and fees we paid into their own pocket instead of using it to buy bandwidth.

They don't offer high speed for no reason. Look at Comcast Commercials.
Even the girl talks about downloading movies and how her connection is twice as fast as UVerse VDSL. That spaghetti monsta...sure is a genius. |

But then again, we CAN"T get legal downloads. Hell, even some Youtube can't be watched here. Hulu anyone? |
