Understand for Honeycomb task killer not required as its smart enough to manage apps and memory better. But sometimes when I try to go last accessed/used apps (multitasking window), browser always not there, always got killed  cry.gif
*
same here... i find the stock browser crashing very often. and when i check the last accessed/ used apps, browser is not in the list. click the browser apps, and the tab is blank. getting a bit disappointed with this. i guess time to try new browsers. smile.gif

strange as I don't have the default browser crash on me yet... maybe i don't browse those graphic intensive page too much...

BTW... my TF has at last met up with the keyboard dock and I felt it's completed now... The FOC sleeve seems to fit it nicely... but makes it very bulky... I love the full size USB port very much as it's so solid built and the cover have the magnetic feel that will snap back to the port with ease... So far tested wireless mouse... no problem mo... SD card also no problem... must try the external HDD later...
*
on several occasions where the browser crashed, i was on LYN forum. smile.gif

but ya, got 2-3 tabs open but i think mainly was still LYN forum.

the 'crash' i experienced does not have any error messages. the browser just closes by itself as though u pressed home key or sth.

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of getting the transformer but does anyone know whether the usb host supports 3g modems?
Or do we have to do alot of work in order to get it working, like the xoom case
*
not sure if you realised this is on the Page 1 FAQ?!? Short answer -- No. Long answer -- you already got it.

Yea, but i dont think id like to bring it around that much, the dock's a cool feature If you got a lot to type, but if i just wanna hang around at a coffee shop i wouldnt bring it with me

Saw some guy on youtube reviewing the case, but he's in UK, hope they sell it here too

CyberKewl,
Where did you buy ur transformer? Thinking abt buying it end of this week
*
honestly, if you dun get the dock, might as well check out other tablets. smile.gif serious. even the name of the tablet (Transformer) is because it can transform between tablet and dock. sitting at kopitiam is where u wanna have the dock... heh heh... after type, undock and become tablet... shocking.gif cool2.gif

so iconia comes with 32GB internally?
how about the battery life?
*
there is an Iconia thread which you can check out: acer iconia a500, android 3.0

and like what's been feedback earlier, the Tf gets full functions/ features when it is used with the dock (USB port is one example). otherwise, Iconia is a close competitor (in terms of price and specs).

I make my decision after trying the xoom, eeepad and iconia at Challenger Store ( Spore ). I like testing stuffs at Challenger as they laid out all the tablets , totaling about 10 different types ( Viewsonic, Archos, China made, Motorola, Asus, Acer, Ipad, ipad2  etc ) out on a big table. You can spend time testing on all of it ; no one will come and disturb you unlike some KL stores, just only a few minutes touching it,  you will see the salesman overlooking your shoulder and trying to convince you to buy. I don't know what is the scenario at KL new Challenger store - hopefully is the same
Similarly you can test all the latest notebooks, smartphones etc - a indeed conducive environment to test gadgets.
*
hmmm... learnt something new today. is the challenger shop this one: http://challenger.my/

located in the Mines. But the weekly promo... got typo:

no shortcut, have to manually do it. alternatively you could do a factory reset tongue.gif

maybe you could clear the launcher data, im not sure if thats possible or got any side effects if you could do it, but i guess it'll clear all the customisation on your home screen..just guessing, never tried b4 tho.
*
where is this launcher data?

also, just wanna ask... how many of you shut down the TF? i do that once in a while when i know i got no time to play with it. but loading up... takes almost 30-60seconds from the time screen turns on to the time i see the lock screen.

i dun remember it being that long..

QUOTE(CyberKewl @ Jun 17 2011, 07:13 AM)
actually i mean the alignment between the tablet and the dock, on the left hand side there is a 1mm gap difference on mine. what i'm trying to say is that lets say you overlap two books together,, on the left hand side it is not aligned 100%, but rather there is a minor gap difference. is everyone else's the same?
*
i think its normal to have a bit of gap. but again, i may have misunderstood your question/ problem. mind to share photo instead?

QUOTE(caterpiez @ Jun 17 2011, 07:27 AM)
How to check battery level for dock? I'd installed dual battery widget from market but it show not docked for dock.
FYI, just collected the dock from evernew on wednesday.
*
u tried the one we listed on Pg1? that one will show the battery for both tablet and dock.

guys... i'm going to check out this game:
https://market.android.com/details?id=net.f...Fire2THD&rdot=1

seems good.

also, this is an interesting article...
Android PSA: Stop Using Task Killer Apps -- Now
QUOTE
First, Android doesn’t necessarily keep apps “running” in the background like a car for instance. Using gas/CPU even when they’re not being used. They way it works is Android will pause those apps until you return to them. If you don’t come back to the app for awhile, Android will eventually close the app altogether. This requires no intervention from the user what-so-ever.

QUOTE
The other misconception people have with Android and another reason for using a task killer is that they feel like it will some how make their phone perform faster. This has something to do with the thought that “freeing up RAM” is going to somehow make your phone speedier and quicker when doing everyday tasks (I used to believe this as well). But not so. First off, the purpose of RAM is to be used. If you’re not using the RAM, why do you even have it? Second, even when you close out those 20 apps in the background, 20 more will open up in their place. Like Bebe’s Kids. They don’t die, they multiply. Your resistance is futile. I mean, it’s not like Android will keep opening apps in the background until you’re completely out of RAM. That would cause your phone to completely freeze and lock up and wouldn’t make any sense. Android is smarter than that. Instead, it will begin closing the oldest apps still open in the background to make space for new ones. I mean think about it, do you have to manage the RAM on your home computer? No. It just works, right? Same with Android.

hmmm... just asking some q and see if it helps you come up with some ideas:
* is the wifi secured/ with password? what type -- WEP/ WPA/ etc? <-- are you in the position to disable any password on the wifi first?
* have you joined this network before? if yes, maybe can remove it from the list?
* based on specs, Tf dun support A band. its not an A band router, right? smile.gif
* what about other wifi network -- starbucks, mamak, etc?

I just won myself an ipad2!

still thinking shud i keep it or sell it to get Asus Transformer. But currently i got one Galaxy Tab 7 adi ;X

what u guys think?? I need opinion!

if i keep ipad2 i mostly use it for gaming and if transformer, it might serve d same purpose a smy Galaxy Tab 7 now.
*
personally, sell ipad2. you can fetch a hefty $ for it. my bro-in-law told me that he knows a few guys who are still queuing up at apple stores to buy ipad and then sell it back to others -- making rm500-rm1k in the process.

selling tab7 or Tf101... you end up losing money. resale value, sadly, won't be higher.
