Bro, you only live once. Buy the car that you love rather than what other people think is conventional and cheap. If you can afford the car, u can afford the maintenance for sure.

I believe your fear of maintainance is heard from those who r denying the advantage of Insight hybrid car.

from my observation from friends and other forums, these are common comments on Honda Insight:

1. It is a CHEAP hybrid, mild hybrid, not a real Hybrid car.
2. Insight is not a Hybrid car, real Hybrid is Pr*us.
3. It is marketing gimmick from Honda
4. It cannot run on the engine alone
5. Diesel car is better than Insight
6. HIGH maintainance, Insight battery cost RM12k! some say RM8k-10k.
7. Cannot fetch tall people
8. Vios, Myvi, Persona, Fiesto, VW golf etc can get better fuel consumption... bla bla bla
....the list goes on and on ...

I dunno why many people hate this Insight so much.

Actually when I 1st approach Honda Salesman last Friday, most of them said the waiting period is about 1 month but most can't promise fast delivery. Try Silver or white at Sumber Auto PJ, Angkasa Jalan Ipoh or Kah Motor Puchong.

during the japan EQ crisis time i already notice there are few contest which can win an insight. and i asking the same question to myself, "i tot there there aren't enuff stock?"

That's what I have in mind as well, but ended up pay cash because the only accept Visa or Master Card

I think most of us, Insight owners put a pretty much high bet on a well known 'Japanese reliability'. Indeed.
If not because of my oldman's car 1984 Datsun Sunny 130y still running after 27 years, his ex5 running 1 whole year without oil change, my former cars all japs gone through severe trashing in my early days of driving and survived, I wouldn't buy Insight if not because of these experience....

In term of maintenance, its the same as other cars + IMA battery cost every 10 years or so.

9. Insight engine + road noise very obvious
- If u're living in Europe, yes u could argue with that since european/western cars were very well sorted. But if u compare it even with CKD japan model here, Insight NVH is excellent for the price paid.
By the way, test driving Prius recently (just for fun), the NVH is just about similar to Insight. Engine roar is still there when revved hard, wheels wobbles on uneven road. Making the Insight much better value when compare the price.
+ point for prius was stealth take-off (run on full batt).

Got my insight yesterday.. for me..

1. auto stop ok, just switch to N, pull hand break, and release break, if want to disable it.

2. econ mode off, like put turbo.. S and econ off for the real insight power.. peh.. 1.3 engine/ small sedan, i don't find any car can fight with it.. haha

3. space is okay, for 'small type' family like me..


but.. hehe

i think it is HM marketing strategy..
my car arrived here before tsunami, why so difficult to get it. only 1st batch insight arrived. so my car and yours who got on february until now are same batch.

2nd batch only will arrive august or september. so why so difficult to get it? why get more than 3 months to get the car that already it Klang Port?

I think i can finally get my car next week. I went thru quite an ordeal to get my hands on this silver insight but now seems like wasted the time and aggravation since so many new stock is on its way.

BTW did your SA wants the owner to go to JPJ to register the car? And also ask for Puspakom Inspection fees? MY SA want to save some money I think by doing this and charging me for it.
