Took the combo with salty popcorn and drinks, total up about TWD 1k per person.
No wonder their cinema is quite empty all the time...
I'm truly grateful that our GSC is so affordable, and for the popcorn that taste better.

walau....about RM100 per person XD and we complain our cinema is expensive laugh.gif

Almost everything in Taiwan is either more expensive or comparable to M'sia price only.
The only things make it worthwhile to go Taiwan is the scenery, the friendly people, the weather and also the variety of food.

Going to Taipei soon and will be staying at Wonstar Hotel Zhonghua, 82 Chung Hua Road Section 1 Ximending Taipei.  How's this hotel?  Anyone been there lately?  And how much cash do you think I should have with me for 5D4N just for makan and some light shopping?  Thanks.
*
When you add in shopping, it is a very subjective word... could be anything from TWD 1k to TWD 10k..
Personally, for 5D4N, I could spend less than TWD 2k for myself only, inclusive of food, without shopping, without taking cabs for long distance and travel by bus/rail only.
Usually I'll just change USD100 at the airport.

not sure about prepaid card but you might wanna consider getting the digital tour buddy (free phone rental by Taiwan tourism). it comes with a phone and 3G sim card with NTD100 free credit. more info : http://youthtravel.tw/

you can take the Taiwan Rail from Taipei Main Station to RuiFang and take bus to JiuFen. Train to RuiFang takes about 40 minutes, and bus to JiuFen takes about 20minutes.

Ya, both Taiwan HSR & Taiwan Railway also depart from Taipei Main Station.

HSR will be faster but expensive. And from Taichung HSR they have free shuttle bus to certain locations in Taichung.

You can purchase the prepaid sim card at the airport (in fact you can only purchase it at airport), just ask the friendly staff at the counter after exit the arrival hall. And yes, it is applicable to iphone.

If you hv Nokia smartphone, you can just download the latest Taiwan Nokia maps (GPS) 100% FOC, & no need roaming/ data charges.

Otherwise, google maps. You can also find a simple & usefull Metro maps on 1st pg

can't you just inform the hotel that you are arriving late so that somebody will be there? then you dun need to move here and there loh. moving hotels actually waste your travel time.
