Thanks transit. I just realise it should be the same timezone in flight itenerery.

I have few question regarding digital tour buddy, anyone get this before?
1) Borrow for SIM card or sim card+hand phone, what is the different?
2) Anyone experience about the condition for "Credential to be left as security"? What usually we left there? And do they guarantee return us the item like driving license?
3) For those taking Airasia, the Equipment return point will be TIA Terminal 2 too? Same as the place we get our Digital Tour Buddy. Worried when depart back to Malaysia, we will not passing the area.

Thanks for the help everyone smile.gif

Experience to share
(1) One package is SIM card with their GSM phone, the other one is without SIM card. Both SIM card also preloaded with NTD$100 but I tell honestly the credit very fast running out as their prepaid phone charge is expensive. NT$100 can use to call back Malaysia whenever reach there (Taiwan) or call any Taxi service, Hotel or any emergency etcs services.

(2) Usually they will request you to leave your driving license or IC. I think is better to left driving license if you are not driving in Taiwan. They will return you.

(3) Terminal 1 & Terminal 2 got the counter to take/return Digital Tour Buddy. If you are taking AirAsia, then is easy as the arrival and departure should be the same terminal. I cannot remember which terminal liao but I am sure both terminal got tourism counter for you to collect/return Digital Tour Buddy.

Enjoy your trip there.

I visited Taipei 101 during this time i.e ~ 5:30pm. By the time queing up & reaching the top already ~ 6pm sunset time..& by ~ 6:15pm already dark.

So no problem lor..you can stay as long as possible up there. and the best part. do not limit yourself too long at the observation tower. Go further to level 91 (i think0 and this is the open air area wher you can get a better view of Taipei without the glass enclosure.. and during winter, temperature up there is ~ 2C colder than temperature below the towr.

want to ask...what other airlines offer cheap tix from kk,sabah to Taipei except AA??
and is end of november and december suitable to go there..my mom say it's cold...not so good
*
Dragonair via Hong Kong. There is an ongoing promotion now for RM1317 all-in but it is almost sold out now.

December is quite good actually and not too cold. January and February are the coldest with strong wind.

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Sep 8 2011, 12:19 AM)
yeah...will have to book earlier
17C....quiet cold...think my mom was right...cold...not good to walk around and buy stuff
HK also same
there are other airline...HK airline and china airline have fly from kk to tpe
but quiet expensive
*
Hong Kong Airlines has suspended their flights to KK. And it is actually Mandarin Airlines that flies to KK from Taipei but sometimes the flight is operated by the parent's company aircraft which is China Airlines.

There is another Taiwanese carrier flying to KK and it's Transasia Airways. They land in Taipei Songshan Airport (their old airport) which is much nearer to the city centre and has direct access to Taiwan High-speed rail. However, from what i understand is that both Transasia Airways and Mandarin Airlines only sell tickets to those passengers originating from Taipei.

By the way, 17°C is not cold actually. As a matter of fact, it's the best time to visit Taipei because you won't get all sweaty walking around the city. All you need is to wear a jacket and that's it smile.gif

QUOTE(stimix @ Sep 8 2011, 11:20 AM)
Jan/Feb probably cold bcos temperature can drop to 10C..That's cold!
*
Plus the stong wind which makes it even colder but i like it though. We can wear more shirts + jacket and be fashionable, something we can't do in Malaysia laugh.gif

This section was closed when i went there back in January this year due to bad weather. Couldn't get a clear view of Taipei too due to heavy fog and no. No discount even though the open air observatory was closed sad.gif

Its probably not based on One Piece, but rather the theme that was there when I arrived was based on One Piece.
They are selling lots of One Piece figurines and jigsaw puzzles, and people were buying them like crazy.
Didnt check the pricing though.

Tarako also considered high speed lor. My tour only arrange the slow commuter for us. Damn boring and keep stopping quite frequently.

I don't really consider Tarako express as high speed lor...abit slower than ERL and they do stop (if I still can recall) but lesser stops compare wth every stations stop if using conventional train.

Yeah the conventional wan really turtle but The speed wan also not as fast as as I expected haha
