Im using this one..

Okay.. no HSR... just normal trainnnn alright... smile.gif

Hi, ya. This is the website, not HSR to Hualien.
Just click the english version at the left handside, then you will be able to book using passport no.
I booked using Malaysian passport number no prob.

Remember to print the ticket form as you will need it to obtain the actual ticket from Train station.

Btw, if you r going straight to Taroko Gorge, Sincheng station is nearer than Hualien.

This is the station I get down. That Taroko Gorge really nothing special. Maybe because of typhoon, the waters are muddy. Even on our way to CingJing, there are a few landslides and road repairs ongoing.

Hehe, really depend on the perspective.

To me, Taroko Gorge is the most spectacular scene I saw in Taiwan, and I hope to go back again...hopefully can do some hiking and more walking..

how to see the currency exchange? at the buying or selling column? and we have to deduct TWD 30 right?
*
look at the We Sell column, normally it's the more expensive one. based on Wawasan Money Changer the rate now is RM10.80 for NTD100.

Probably, i oso been to Grand Canyon and ran top-bottom, definitely super stunning...

But 1 things i find in order to enjoy Taroko Gorge and the area, is better drive ourselves or cycle or walk....

Last time i was regretted for not plan a east-west drive thru Taroko-Hehuanshan and Nantou.. but drove along east coast down to Kenting is also superb!

** Accidentally used my bro act to reply earlier.

I never been to US nor Yunnan. Isn't Tarako Gorge the hillside waterfall with a building behind? Maybe it's the tiring journey that spoilt the mood, but really don't know what to see there. For me, I think the best memory is from CingJing. Good weather, nice accommodation, nice food, nice morning view and best is get to feel sheep fur.

Oh, the hillside water with temple? That's just the early part of Taroko Gorge, I think the typical Taroko Gorge route end at Tian Xiang, around 15km from the entrance. There are more walking routes and hiking trails after the temple area.

We weren't given enough time. Just 30minutes to snap pics. No wonder nothing to see.

Hehe... ya.. 30mins too short.. i went there in June... drove from Taipei to Hualien, stay a night, then next day spend whole day in Taroko Gorge and overnight at Tian Xiang....
For budget option, can rent motorbike from Hualien and ride to Taroko Gorge for day trip.
For fit option, can arrange bicycle rental at Sincheng Train station, then cycle to Taroko Gorge, stay overnight at Tian Xiang, then cycle to Hualien.

Would like to ask the seasoned Taiwan travelers here.

What's the best rate for Air tickets that you would consider cheap for a return ticket for AAsia?

Thanks..
