if you are relying on public transport its a bit tricky unless you taking taxi. the cable car closes at 4.30pm. you either spend a night at the formosa village and the theme park or you have to leave early or spend some money taking taxi back to sun moon lake.

Yeah, can also. Coz Shifen has waterfall and lantern release. I think less than half an hour gua.
Because from Jiufen back to Ruifang station is roughly 20mins by bus, then from there take train to Shifen.

I'm not going to TaiChung, so never do research for that.

Found the railway map...I think it helps a little?
Look at the small part map at the bottom of the picture. It shows Ruifang, Shifen railway track.

If depart from LCCT at 10am and reach Taoyuan Airport at 3pm.
You think I manage to board Taroko Express train by 4.40pm??

no way man. unless u straight board taxi and go to station to prepare to board the 4.40 express train

u need allocate time for:-

immigration clearance
luggage collection
change money (if u want)
youth card application (if u want)
get sim card (if u want)
travelling time from taoyuan to taipei (if u go to taipei)

How much time I need to allocate before I leave from the airport?
Or should I ask, approximate what time I can reach Taipei Main Station??

Coz then from here only I able to know which time I can buy ticket for the express train. sweat.gif

let say i will be away to tai chung for 2days..can I keep the luggage in the taipei hotel which i will be staying after i back from tai chung ?

any idea is it safe or not?

it depends on what u wanna see and do actually.
if u are only aiming for shopping and food hunting or clubbing. whole week in taipei is good enough.
if u want to venture more about taiwan. i suggest u gotta go to other places like; taichung, sun moon lake, hualien
just my opinion only biggrin.gif

yeh liu - jiu fen - shi fen - kee lung

by public transport, train + bus? or need to get a car?

yeh liu and jiufen is both different places. u can complete with public transport bus (need change bus) in one whole day. but it will be a bit rush and u need to plan ur time accordingly

i prefer to have the following:-

yeh liu + other places in taipei
jiufen/jinguashi/shifen

this is based on my research only. after my trip i can give more opinions tongue.gif

Yup.. U r rite .. Jz bek from Taiwan only ..


Jiu fen there is super jam n the road.. U need time to shop there at least 3hour also not enough.. Too many things to eat ..
